  • Automated driving test track opened in Aurangabad

An automated driving test track has been opened in Aurangabad at the Institute of Driving Training and Traffic Research (IDTR). The track is fitted with cameras and sensors that connect to the monitoring room’s computer systems. Driving licenses will be sanctioned based on video footage from the cameras on and around the track. If any traffic rules are broken while driving on the track, the sensors send the data to the computing systems. There are different time limits and scores set up for each stage of the driving test. Automated driving tasks aim to increase the accuracy and efficiency of driving tests. Similar tracks are planned to be constructed in other cities in the state, most notably in Muzaffarpur and Patna. Adherence to various traffic rules will be tested, among them parallel parking, lane driving, change of paths, putting on the seatbelt, reverse, permanent parking, stop line, traffic light junctions, S-formations, etc.
