The National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) is a non-profit company established to provide financial education across the country. NCFE aims to create financial awareness amongst the masses through campaigns, seminars, workshops, and discussion forums.
Programs Conducted by NCFE
- Financial Education Programme for Adults (FEPA):This programme is designed for working individuals, rural folks and farmers, women groups, and army personnel, with the aim of providing financial education to less aware section of the society. Workshops under this programme are not chargeable and NCFE also provides course material free of cost.
- Financial Education Training Programme (FETP):This programme is designed for class eight to class 10 school teachers with the aim of creating financial awareness in society. Teachers get certified as 'Money Smart Teacher' on successful completion of the course. This course would aid teachers to conduct financial education classes in school and help students acquire basic financial knowledge.
- Money Smart School Program (MSSP):This programme has been jointly developed by CBSE and NCFE. Under this programme, schools can voluntarily introduce financial education in their curriculum for students of class six up to class ten. The curriculum for financial education has been developed in such a way that it integrates with other subjects taught in schools. Apart from that, NCFE and CBSE have also developed a set of five workbooks to aid in financial learning.
- Financial Awareness and Consumer Training (FACT):This programme is designed by NCFE to create financial awareness amongst young graduates and postgraduates. This programme is free of cost and of two hours duration. The main objective of conducting this programme is to help young people set financial goals, and know their financial rights and responsibilities before they join the workforce.
- NCFE E-learning course (NCFE E-LMS):
This is an online programme launched by NCFE covering general financial education topics like securities markets, banking, insurance and pension products. These topics are further divided into 20 sub-topics like long term planning, managing income, financial records, etc. This course is offered free of cost to registered users.
