Online Process 

  • Go to the Official Parivahan Website 
  • Choose Tamil Nadu as Your State 
  • Select Apply for DL Renewal 
  • Enter all pertinent data, such as your birthdate and driver's licence number 
  • Upload scanned copies of identification verification documents, such as your current driver's licence and proof of residency, to this page 
  • Pay the renewal fee via the portal's online payment mechanism 
  • After the procedure and payment are finished, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt. Don't forget to print off this paper in case you need it later 
  • Depending on the delivery option you have chosen, your renewed driver's licence will be sent to your registered address or made available for pickup at the RTO. 

Offline Process 

  • Get the application form (Form 2) from the RTO office and complete it 
  • Send the completed application together with the required paperwork to the RTO officer 
  • Pay the necessary renewal costs in person at the RTO office. Make sure you receive a payment receipt 
  • If necessary, undergo biometric verification, which includes the capture of your photograph and fingerprints 
  • Upon completion of the submission and payment, an acknowledgement receipt will be generated. For later usage, it must be printed 
  • Your updated driver's license will be available for pickup at the RTO or delivered to your location via the method of your choice.
