Union Bank of India FASTag

FASTag is a device which uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to help you pay the toll payment from your bank account directly. The facility is affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle. A tag reader directly reads the FASTag and deducts the said amount from your bank account.

  1. Is it compulsory to have a FASTag for all my vehicles?

    Yes, you must have a FASTag for all your vehicles and it is mandatory to make payments only through FASTag at National Highway Toll Plazas.

  2. How is does the system of FASTag work at toll gates?

    FASTag makes use of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. This is a contact-less toll collection system that has been installed at every National Toll Plaza. When your vehicle drives through the gate, the RFID reader will get information regarding your vehicle and also the toll amount that has to be paid. The amount will automatically get deducted from your FASTag wallet.

  4. Can I use the same FASTag for both my vehicles?

    No, you have to use two separate FASTags for both your vehicles.

  5. What happens to my FASTag if I relocate to another city?

    FASTag is an inter operable system and will work at all toll plazas. You can always inform the Issuer Agency/Bank for any change in city or address.

  6. How will I know if the correct amount has been deducted from my FASTag?

    You will get an SMS alert on your registered phone number every time an amount has been deducted from your FASTag balance.

  7. What happens if I lose my RFID Tag?

    If you have lost your FASTag, you will need to call the customer care number of Union Bank of India.

  8. For how long is my FASTag valid?

    Your FASTag will be valid for 5 years. After you have bought the tag, you have to recharge it as per your requirement.

  9. Will I get concessions that are given to local vehicles if I reside within 10 Km of a toll plaza?

    You can take your FASTag and also submit the proof of your address within 10 Km of your toll plaza.
