What is an E-Challan

The system of the e-Challan had been introduced in October, 2013. This had replaced the paper challan system. An e-challan mixes state-of-the-art technology and also the Traffic Police of the city services.   • RTOs in Tamil Nadu functioning, 50 slots available

    Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) in Tamil Nadu are now functioning as citizens can book slots for driving licence (DL) tests. However, only 50 slots have been made available.

    The decision to reduce slots is to curb the spreading of Covid-19 in the state. 30 slots will be allotted for fresh DL applications, and 20 is for renewal of licence. The validity of expired vehicle documents has been extended till 30 September 2021.
