FASTag is a sticker that uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to enable electronic toll-payments at the national highways. The scanner present at the toll plaza scans the tag affixed on the vehicle’s windscreen as it passes. The toll amount gets deducted automatically from the prepaid linked wallet or bank account.

Most of the time balance gets updated instantly. However, a slight delay in updating the payment status is possible. In such cases, it is advisable to wait for two working days. Contact the FASTag issuing bank if the issue persists. Share the ‘Operator Reference ID’ with them. It is available in the ‘History’ section of the PhonePe app.
Recharge can be done by online mode such as credit card/debit card/RTGS/NEFT/UPI/net banking or through offline option such as cheque payment.
