FASTag is an electronic toll collection system that is rub by the National Highway Authority of India. Once you register for FASTag, you receive a laminated rechargeable tag that you can stick on your vehicle's windscreen. With this tag, you can pass through toll gates without having to stop to pay cash.
The system uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. With RFID, every time your vehicle passes through a toll gate, the QR (Quick Response) code on your tag is scanned, and the toll is deducted from your FASTag wallet. The NECT (National Electronic Toll Collection), a program introduced by NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) enables all toll payments to be made via FASTag across India.
