The newly formed Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power after winning the 2024 General Elections. Till 2029, a council of ministers have been appointed who will aid in the smooth functioning of the country.
We will list down the Council of Ministers appointed for different positions.
The Council of Ministers holds executive power in India and is made up of senior ministers categorized as Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State, and Union Ministers of State (Independent Charge).
Following the 2024 general elections, on 9 June 2024, President Smt Droupadi Murmu issued directions for the distribution of portfolios among the Union Council of Ministers. The current composition includes 72 ministers, with the Prime Minister, 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State.
On 9 June 2024, following the 2024 General Elections, the newly re-elected Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, and the Council of Ministers took the oath of office.
According to the Indian Constitution, the total number of members in the Council of Ministers cannot be more than 15% of all the MPs in the Lok Sabha. There can be no more than 81 members in the Council of Ministers because the 18th Lok Sabha currently has 543 members. The Prime Minister and 71 ministers made up the Council of Ministers at the time of swearing-in. There are thirty Cabinet Ministers, five Ministers of State (Independent Charge), and thirty-six Ministers of State in the Council of Ministers for 2024.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in charge of the council, which has 30 members total, including the prime minister.
The Prime Minister oversees all significant policy matters, all other portfolios not delegated to a minister, and the Union Cabinet Ministries of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy, and Department of Space.
There are four categories of ministers within the Council of Ministers: 1. A minister in the cabinet 2. Independent Charge Minister of State; 3. Minister of State; and 4. Deputy Minister.

Under the Department of State Affairs' direction, the Six Ministries, sometimes known as the Six Boards, served as the state's direct administrative organs. They were the Ministries of Works, Revenue, Rites, Personnel, and Justice.
The Indian Constitution makes no mention of educational requirements. They have to be an Indian national. If a member of the Lok Sabha, they must be older than 25. If a member of the Rajya Sabha, they must be older than 30 years.
