How to Apply for a Voter ID in Bihar Online? 

You can apply for voter ID online in Bihar, by following the steps listed below:

Step 1: To apply for a voter ID online in Bihar, you need to visit the Chief Election Office official website in Bihar. In case you are a new user, on the homepage, you will be prompted to register. Enter your name and email ID, and your login credentials will be sent to your registered mobile number via SMS. 

Step 2: Once you have logged in, select the option to apply for a fresh Voter ID. You will be asked to fill the Form 6 completely for the inclusion of your details in the electoral roll.  

Step 3: In Form 6, you will have to provide information like place of birth, spouse’s name, parent’s name, age, current address and also the details of other family members whose names have already been included in the electoral roll.  

Step 4: You will also have to upload all necessary documents on the site including photographs and KYC documents. 

Step 5: After completing the form and uploading the required documents, submit your application. A reference number will be generated, which you can use to track the status of your Voter ID application. 

Step 6: Once the submission is successful, your application will be reviewed. A Booth Level Officer (BLO) will visit your residence to verify the provided details. After successful verification and approval, you will receive your voter ID card at your registered residential address.

How to Apply for Voter ID Offline in Bihar?

If you are not familiar with the online process of applying for a new voter ID or would like to file a Voter ID application in person, follow the steps given below: 

Step 1: You can visit the nearest Bihar state Election Office and procure Form 6, to submit an offline application for voter ID. You must accurately fill in all the details in Form 6 like your name, place of birth, spouse’s name, parent’s name, residential address, taluk & constituency and also information about other family members whose name is already present in the electoral roll.  

Step 2: Do note that, based on whether you are applying for a new voter ID or making changes to an existing one, you will need to submit the appropriate form. The below- listed are the different forms related to voter ID: 

1. Form 6: Application for adding a name to the electoral roll after the draft roll has been published. 

1. Form 7: Application to raise an objection against the inclusion of a name in the electoral roll. 

1. Form 8: Application to correct personal details (such as name, age, or address) in the electoral roll. 

1. Form 8A: Application to change the address within the same constituency (transposition of entry) in the electoral roll.

How to Download Bihar Voter ID Card Online? 

Given below are the steps to download your Bihar Voter ID online:

Step 1: Visit the National Voters' Service Portal by clicking on the link https://electoralsearch.in. 

Step 2: Under 'Search by Details' option, enter details such as your name, name of your father, or husband if you are a married woman, date of birth, and gender. 

Step 3: From the State drop-down options select Bihar, followed by your domicile district from the drop-down menu. You can also use the 'Locate on Map' to enter the state and district of which you are a domicile. 

Step 4: Select the 'Assembly Constituency' from the drop-down menu. 

Step 5: Enter the captcha text and click on 'Search'. 

Step 6: You can use the 'Search by EPIC' where you will have to provide your EPIC number to download the Voter ID card online. 

Step 7: The voter ID card can be downloaded in the pdf format. You can then get a print out of the document or save a copy of it in your smartphone.
