How to Generate a TRACES Compliance Report

Defaults in each and every TAN associated with an entity-level PAN are noted in the TDS Compliance Report. The taxpayer has several options for how to generate this report:

Step 1: Log into TRACES as a taxpayer.

Step 2: Click on the 'Aggregated TDS Compliance’ tab.

Step 3: You can choose either ‘Based on the default’ or ‘Based on the fiscal year.’

What is TRACES Justification Report

The Income Tax Office's discovery of defaults or errors when processing the deductor's statement for a particular quarter of the financial year is detailed in the TDS TRACES Justification Report. The defaults and/or errors that the deductor must rectify are thoroughly covered in this paper.   1. Open: The assessment officer has the ticket, and they will respond to it within the given time frame.

The online correction feature enables all types of corrections, including those involving personal information, challan corrections, deductee details, and more. The steps to make corrections in a challan are as follows:

Step 1: Log in to the TRACES portal.

Step 2: Click on the 'Request for correction' under the ‘defaults’ tab.

Step 3: Enter the information, including the quarter, form type, financial year, and most recent token number accepted.

Step 4: Choose the category as ‘Online’.

Step 5: A request number will be generated after the change request has been submitted.

Step 6: When the request status changes to ‘Available,’ it will be listed under ‘Track Correction Request.’ To continue with the correction, click on Available/In progress status.

Step 7: Enter the KYC information and choose ‘Challan Correction’ as type of category.

Step 8: Make the necessary file corrections.

Step 9: Click on the ‘Submit for Processing’ option.

Step 10: You will receive a 15-digit token number on your registered email address.

Online Correction Services Status on TDS TRACES

A TRACES-registered person or entity may access the following online correction services:

  1. Requested: This indicates that the user has submitted a correction request.
  2. Initiated: This status indicates that the Centralised Processing Cell (CPC) of TDS is handling the request.
  3. Available: This indicates that the statement is now open for correction after the correction request was approved.
  1. Failed: The user must resubmit the correction request because it couldn't be started because of technical causes.
  2. In Progress: The status changes to ‘In Progress’ when the user clicks on the hyperlink that is currently marked as ‘available.’ It indicates that the statement is under consideration.
  3. Submitted to Admin User: The Admin User has received a correction statement from a Sub User.
  4. Submitted to ITD: This indicates that the Admin User has sent the correction request for processing to the Income Tax Department.
  5. Processed: This indicates that TDS CPC has completed processing the request.
