Skoda has confirmed that the new BS6 Rapid will launch in India in April 2020. The new vehicle will come with a host of new cosmetic and mechanical changes.
However, the biggest change in the new sedan is the engine under the bonnet. The Czech carmaker that has taken control of both the Volkswagen and Skoda activities in the country. Skoda may showcase the Rapid at the 2020 Auto Expo before its launch. Currently, the Rapid comes with an ex-showroom price ranging between Rs.8.81 lakh and Rs.12.44 lakh. Certain variants of the Rapid are available at a discount at the moment. Skoda is expected to price the new Rapid around the same price. The Skoda Rapid will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, and the Honda City.

The newest version of the Skoda Rapid has been seen doing test drives on the road and is expected to hit showrooms later in 2016. The new model will carry new exteriors along with updated diesel and petrol engines. The exteriors might carry daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, updates to the front and rear bumpers, grille and wheels through which the model might have a more sportier look than the existing one. The interiors are expected to come with an updated infotainment system and a touchscreen interface, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, etc. With regards to the engine type, the Skoda Rapid will come with a 1.6-litre petrol engine or a 1.5-litre diesel engine and having a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed DSG gearbox. Customers planning to buy the all-new Skoda Rapid can procure a car loan for the facelift model, which is said to be mostly priced at around Rs. 10 lakhs.
