In a move to reduce global pollution levels and join the electric revolution, Maruti is planning to launch an all electric vehicle by the year 2020. In the recent MOVE Summit in New Delhi, the car maker had showcased a prototype of the Maruti Wagon R electric vehicle, the Wagon-R EV. This will be Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle in India. To develop the electric vehicle, Maruti has tied up with Toyota and initially they will develop it for India and then expand it to other emerging markets.
