An initiative of the Government of India, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana works to make the life of farmers in India better. Under this scheme, farmers get Rs.6,000 per year as a minimum income support. All landholding farmer households with agricultural land are given income support by PM-Kisan.

Families of farmers who qualify for financial assistance under the scheme's guidelines are identified by the State Government and UT administration. After the beneficiaries have been selected, the funds are sent directly to their bank accounts.
On 27 July 2023, the prime minister distributed the 14th instalment of PM-Kisan to over 8.5 crore framers. More than Rs.17,000 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of eligible farmers across the country. Under the 14th instalment of PM-Kisan, the farmers will be given Rs.2,000.
The 13th instalment of PM-Kisan was released by the prime minister on 27 February 2023 at 3:00 p.m. An amount of Rs.2,000 was deposited directly into the bank accounts of 8 crore farmer families, totalling Rs.16,800 crore. Beneficiaries who finished the PM-Kisan eKYC ahead of schedule were paid the instalment.
The PM-Kisan's 12th instalment payment amount was distributed on 17 October 2022 at 11:00 a.m. The beneficiaries of PM-Kisan received a Direct Benefit Transfer of Rs.16,000 crore from the prime minister. The 12th instalment of Rs.2,000 was distributed to over than 8 crore framers via bank accounts linked to the PM-Kisan Yojana. To be eligible for the 12th instalment, the beneficiary farmer should have finished the PM-Kisan eKYC process by 31 August 2022.

All landowner farmer families are eligible to receive rewards under this program. According to the scheme's standards, a landholder farmer's family is one with a husband, wife, and minor children who own cultivable land according to the relevant state's or UT's land records. The beneficiaries are determined using the current land ownership structure.

Step 1: Open the official website of PM Kisan.
Step 2: Click the "New Farmer Registration" link in the "Farmers Corner" section after scrolling down.
Step 3: The page labelled "New Farmer Registration Form" will load. If the farmer is already registered on the portal, it will be confirmed on the registration page.
Step 4: The farmer must choose the "Rural Farmer Registration" or "Urban Farmer Registration" option, enter their Aadhar number, choose their state from the drop-down menu, complete the captcha, and then click the "Search" button to have their information verified.
Step 5: The screen will ask if you wish to register yourself and display a confirmation if the farmer's information cannot be found in the database. The 'Yes' tab needs to be selected by the farmer.
Step 6: The registration form will then open, requiring the farmer to enter their personal and financial information before pressing the "save" button.
Step 7: Then, the farmer will be registered.
The farmers can register themselves by downloading the PMKISAN mobile app from the Google Play store. To register on the PMKISAN mobile app, follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Install the PMKISAN mobile app on your smartphone.
Step 2: Select the language from the list and click on the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option.
Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar card number and Captcha.
Step 4: Complete the registration form with the necessary information, including your name, address, bank account details, land details, IFSC Code, etc.
Step 5: Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
The beneficiaries will be identified by the relevant state and UT. The states or UTs will keep track of the farmers' information either manually or electronically. The beneficiaries will receive a direct bank account transfer of the benefits.

The list of PM-Kisan beneficiaries is released on the official PM-Kisan portal by the government. Farmers can view their PM-Kisan status after completing their registration. The farmers whose names appear on the PM-Kisan beneficiary list will benefit from the scheme. Here is how you can check the PM-Kisan status:

Step 2: Click on the 'Beneficiary Status' button under the 'Farmers Corner' section.
Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar number, account number or mobile number.
Step 4: Enter the Captcha and click on the ‘Get Data’ option.
Step 5: The PM-Kisan beneficiary's transaction information will be displayed.
The last instalment's details, the date it was transferred to the beneficiary account, and the bank account to which it was credited will be displayed.
For farmers to take advantage of the PM-Kisan scheme, they must have an Aadhaar card. Farmers who do not possess an Aadhaar card cannot register themselves as PM-Kisan beneficiaries. The Aadhaar-seed database is the only basis on which the instalment can be paid. To link the Aadhaar with the PM-Kisan portal's bank account, beneficiaries need to follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Visit the official PM-Kisan portal.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Edit Aadhaar Failure Records’ option under the ‘Farmers Corner’ section.
Step 3: The Aadhaar details editing page will appear. Click on the ‘Aadhaar Number’ option and enter the Aadhaar number.
Step 4: Enter the Captcha and click the ‘Submit’ option.
Step 5: The farmers dashboard will appear, allowing them to update or modify their Aadhaar number before clicking the ‘Submit’ button.
The e-KYC process has been made mandatory by the government so that the farmers receive their instalments under PM-Kisan. Therefore, farmers who have registered for the PM-Kisan scheme need to complete their e-KYC by 31 August 2022. A farmer will not receive the instalment under the scheme if they have not completed the e-KYC.
Farmers will now be able to complete Aadhar-based eKYC via OTP authentication on the PM-Kisan portal. The following is the procedure for completing eKYC via the PM-Kisan portal:

In 1988, the government introduced the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, giving farmers immediate access to credit. The purpose of this scheme is to give farmers access to short-term formal credit. The PM-Kisan scheme and the KCC have been linked by the government. The beneficiaries of PM-Kisan are eligible to apply for KCC cards, which provide low-interest short-term loans.
The farmers are given a credit limit through the loans provided by the KCC card. This can be used for equipment purchases as well as to pay for other expenses.
The features of the PM-Kisan credit card are as follows:

Step 2: Under the ‘Farmers Corner’ section, select the ‘Download KCC Form’ option.
Step 3: The Agricultural Credit Loan Application Form for PM-Kisan beneficiaries will appear on screen which should be downloaded.
Step 4: Complete all the fields on the form.
Step 5: Farmers must fill out the form with the option ‘Issue of fresh KCC,’ located under option ‘B’ section.
Step 6: Submit the form along with the required documents to the farmer's bank.
The farmer will receive the KCC card from the bank after the request has been processed.
Beneficiaries can also go to the bank's website, fill out the PM-Kisan credit card application, and submit it online. Once the application has been processed, the KCC card will be issued to the beneficiary.
