State Bank of India releases a notification to announce the dates when it would conduct exams to hire new employees. The notification to hire probationary officers in 2020 is expected to be released in the month of March, if the bank decides to stick to the previous year’s trend.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria which candidates need to fulfil in order to apply for the SBI PO exam are listed below:

  • Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of 1 April 2020. (OBC candidates get relaxation of 3 years while SC/ST/ExS/J&K migrants get relaxation of 5 years on the upper age limit).
  • Should have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university.
  • Should not have an adverse report regarding character.
  • Should not be a defaulter when it comes to repayment of loans and credit card dues.
  • Should not have exceeded the maximum number of attempts permitted. (4 for general citizens and 7 for PWD/OBC/ST/SC candidates).

Application Fees

The fees which need to be paid in order to apply for the SBI PO exam 2020 is Rs.750 for candidates who fall in general category while candidates falling in reserved categories will need to pay Rs.125.

  • Select ‘SBI PO Exam 2020 application form’
  • Fill in the form
  • Upload scanned image of passport size photo as well as the signature in JPEG format.
  • Next, click on ‘Submit’

  • Pay the fees using debit/credit card or through net banking
  • Once the payment is successful, a registration ID will be generated which can be used for future reference

  • The photo must be of 200 x 230 pixels with the size being 20 to 50 kb.
  • The signature must be of 140 x 60 pixels with the size being 10 to 20 kb.

Selection Process of SBI PO Exam 2020

The selection process of candidates in the SBI PO exam 2020 is listed below:

  • First, you need to clear the preliminary exam by scoring the qualifying marks
  • On doing so, you will be called to appear in the SBI PO Main exam
  • In the main examination, you need to get qualifying marks in each section as well as get a good overall score to be shortlisted for group discussion and interview.
  • Following the group discussion and interview, the marks obtained in the main examination and GD/PI will be calculated.
  • Final list of candidates is prepared based on the combined marks of both the mains exam and GD/PI.

  • SBI PO Main exam results announced

    The results of the State Bank of India Probationary Officer Main Exam 2020 have been announced and the results will be available on the official website of the bank. The bank has added the list of selected candidates who have qualified for Phase III or the interview round. This will be held during February or March, according to sources.

    The bank will also release the call letter for the SBI PO interviews on the website. The SBI PO recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 2,000 job vacancies in the State Bank of India. Candidates will be able to check the results by visiting the ‘Current Openings’ page under the ‘Careers’ section on the official website.

  • SBI PO Preliminary Exam Admit Cards Released

    The State Bank of India (SBI) preliminary exams are set to be held from 31 December 2020 to 5 January 2021. The exams will be held for the hiring of probationary officers (PO). The admit cards for the exam have been released. Candidates who have registered themselves for the same will be able to download the admit cards online using their registration number and date of birth.

    The admit cards for the mains exam will be issued to the candidates who successfully pass the prelims. These admit cards will be available from 29 January 2021.

  • SBI invites applications for 2000 probationary officer posts

    State Bank of India (SBI) has invited applications from eligible applicants for the post of probationary officers. As per the official notification, there are a total of 2,000 vacancies. Of the total vacancies, 810 are for general category, 540 for OBC category, 300 for SC category, 200 for EWS category and 150 for ST category. Interested candidates can apply between November 14 and December 4 by visiting the official website of SBI.

  • IBPS PO applications reopened; vacancies revised to 3517 for Probationary Officers

    The IBPS PO 2020 registration and application process resumed on 28 October 2020 under the Supplementary Notification. The candidates who were unable to apply in August 2020 will be able apply for the exam online from the official website of IBPS.

    The total number of vacancies for the IBPS PO Recruitment 2020 has been changed to 3517 and the registration and application process will be continuing till 11 November 2020.
