IBPS SO examination is held every year by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). This exam is held for the selection of Specialist Officers (SO) for different Public Sector Banks. IBPS SO Exam Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for IBPS SO exam comprises of 4 different stages. These stages are being listed below:

  1. Online Preliminary Exam: The preliminary examination is held through online medium. Candidates who qualify for the prelims are allowed to go ahead and take the mains exam in the next stage.
  2. Online Mains Examination: This is the second stage of the exam. Candidates who qualify for the prelims are allowed to appear for this section of the exam process. If a candidate qualifies for the mains exam, he or she will go ahead in the next stage of the exam, that is the interview round.
  3. Interview Round: The interview round is held after the declaration of the results of the mains exam. Candidates who qualify the mains exam will have to go this final round of the examination. Candidates are selected after the declaration of the final results following the interview round.
  4. Provisional Allotment: The provisional allotment list of the selected candidates is released on the official website of IBPS. The allotment is done on the basis of the preference which has been opted by the candidates at the time of registration. The process of informing the joining dates and other related procedure is communicated to the candidates by the respective banks where they are selected.

Salary of an IBPS SO

The salary of an IBPS SO on the basis of the latest revisions is pinned at Rs.21,990 as on 1 January 2016. A new joinee will be eligible for a basic pay of Rs.21,990 and an in-hand salary of Rs.19,590.

  4. Candidates who want to appear for the IBPS SO exams will be required to meet the following conditions:

    • A citizen of India.
    • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
    • Tibetan refugee who has moved to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently residing in India.
    • Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, or Malawi, with the intention of permanently residing in India.

    *The migrated candidates will be required to provide the certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India (GOI) as a proof of their migration.

  5. Age of the applicant:
  6. The age of the applicant should not be more than 30 years and should not be less than 20 years as on 1 November 2020.

    On the basis of this, the candidate should have been born not before 2 November 1989 and not after 1 November 1999. There are certain age relaxations as well which apply to different categories of candidates:

IBPS SO Exam Application Fee

The fee structure for the registration for IBPS SO exam can be summed up as follows:

  • IBPS announces results for the RRB Officer exam

    The results for Regional Rural Bank (RRB) Officer main exam (scale I) have been announced by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) on Wednesday. The IBPS has also declared the results for RRB Officer (Scale II and III). The candidates who have appeared in the exam can follow the steps mentioned below to check the results:

    • Step 1: Visit the IBPS official website.
    • Step 2: Click on the link mentioning exam name.
    • Step 3: Enter your registration number and password to login.
    • Step 4: Check the results.

    Candidates can access their results online till 20 October 2021.

  • Last date to register for UGC NET is 2 March 2021

    The last date to register for the UGC NET exams in 2021 is on 2 March, 2021. The fees for the application form can be paid till 3 March 2021 before 11:50 pm. The application and fee payment must be done on the official website of UGC NET. The online payment can be done through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI mobile applications such as Paytm. The exam is to be conducted from 2 through 17 May 2021. The steps to apply for the exam are: Visit the official website of the UGC NET, National Testing Agency. Register using your mobile number and email address. The application number will be generated which should be noted down after which you need to fill in the form as required. Upload the latest scanned photo and signature of the candidate. Pay the examination fee online and submit the application form. A printout can be taken for any future reference. The UGC NET exam is for selection of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship candidates. The exam consists of two papers with 100 marks and 200 marks respectively and will last for a total of three hours.

  • IBPS RRB, Clerks, PO examination schedule released on the official website

    The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has recently announced the calendar and schedule for the RRB, PO and Clerk examinations on the official website. According to the notification, the IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 Mains 2020 exam will be held on 30 January 2021 and the IBPS PO Mains 2020 will be conducted on 4 February 2021.

    Along with this, the IBPS RRB Assistants Mains exam will be conducted on 20 February 2021 and the IBPS Clerks 2020 Mains exam will be held on 28 February 2021.

  • Delayed: RRB NTPC 2019

    The Railway Recruitment Board is set to release its RRB NTPC 2019 Date sheet for different posts. This recruitment notice for around 35,000 Non-technical posts had been released in the year, 2019. This application process had finished by March 2019 but then, the preliminary exam dates were delayed

    The RRB NTPC dates are set to be declared after the authorities finalise the centre for the examination. The official notice had said that the reason for delay is that the centre has not been finalised. A notice has been released and this states that the decision of the centre delayed it is the Coronavirus.
