IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Pattern

There will be three sections of English language, Reasoning Ability, and Numerical Ability. There will be 30 questions for English and 35 questions each for Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability. The marks too correspond to the number of questions in each, with 30 marks for English and 35 marks each for Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability, which makes the total marks 100. There are 20 minutes given for each section, which means the total duration is one hour.

IBPS Clerk Mock Test Pattern

There are four sections for the IBPS Clerk mains exam. These are General or Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. There are 50 questions each for General and Financial Awareness, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. There are 40 questions for General English. There are 50 marks for General/Financial Awareness and also for Quantitative Aptitude. There are 40 marks for General English and 60 marks for Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude. The duration General /Financial Awareness and General English is 35 minutes while for Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude it is 45 minutes each. The total number of questions is 190, maximum marks is 200, and total duration is 160 minutes.

Important Points to note

The exam will be conducted in English or Hindi, except for the paper in General English. While unanswered questions will not be awarded any marks, wrongly answered questions in the Objective Test will attract negative marking of 0.25 marks each. Both the exams are online tests.

The preliminary exams have sectional cut-off marks so it is important to do well in each section in order to clear the preliminary exams and qualify for the main exams. Those who pass the main exams will be shortlisted for the post and called for the final interview round.
