Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme Objectives 

The Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme has been implemented by the Karnataka State Government with the aim of achieving several objectives: 

1. Financial assistance for economically disadvantaged females: The Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme focuses on providing financial assistance to females belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. This assistance helps to alleviate financial burdens and improve the overall well-being of these individuals.  
2. Encourage the birth of girl children: The scheme aims to promote the birth of girl children in the state by combating societal stigma associated with female births and reducing instances of female infanticide. Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme Eligibility criteria 

The eligibility conditions ensure that the benefits of the Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme are provided to deserving young girls from economically disadvantaged families. The eligibility criteria for the Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme are as follows: 

1. Birth Enrolment: The birth of the girl child must be officially registered within one year of her birth, and a birth certificate must be submitted as proof of enrollment. 
2. Family Status: The benefits of the scheme are available only to girl children born into families classified as below the poverty line (BPL) after 31 March 2006. 
3. Family Size: The scheme is applicable to a maximum of two children from a BPL family. 

1. Education: The beneficiary should have completed at least 8th standard education and should not have been married before the age of 18. 
2. Child Labour: The girl child availing the scheme should not be engaged in any form of child labour. 
3. Immunization: The girl child should have received immunization as per the health department's vaccination program. 
4. Karnataka Resident: To be eligible for the scheme, the girl should be a resident of the state of Karnataka. 

Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme Benefits  

The Karnataka government provides various benefits to eligible beneficiaries under the Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme. These include: 

1. Financial Support at the Age of 18: When the girl child reaches 18 years of age, the parents are provided with Rs.34,751.  
2. Health Insurance Cover: The girl child receives health insurance cover of up to Rs.25,000 per month. 
3. Financial Assistance in Case of Accidents or Natural Death: In the unfortunate event of an accident, the parents receive Rs.1 lakh, and in case of natural death of the girl child, they receive Rs.42,500. 
4. Annual Scholarships: The child is entitled to an annual scholarship ranging from Rs.300 to Rs.1,000, depending on her age, up to the 10th standard.

2. Bhagyashree Scheme Application Form: The completed application form for the Bhagyashree Scheme can be obtained from the authorities concerned. 

1. Income Details of the Parents: Documents providing information about the income of the girl child's parents, such as salary slips, income certificates, or any other relevant income-related documents. 
2. Birth Document of the Girl Child: A valid birth certificate of the girl child, issued by the appropriate authorities, as proof of her age and identity. 
3. Bank Details of the Girl Child: The bank account details of the girl child, including the account number and the name of the bank, to facilitate the direct transfer of financial assistance. 
4. Address Proof of the Parents: Documents serving as proof of the residential address of the parents, such as a ration card, an Aadhaar card, a voter ID card, or any other valid address proof. 

How to Apply for the Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme Offline? 

To apply for the Karnataka Bhagyashree Scheme, eligible candidates have the option to apply either online or offline. Here are the steps to apply offline:   

Step 1: Contact one of the following authorities: Municipal Corporations, Aanganwadi Center, Authorised Banks, NGOs, or the Grampanchayat Office. 

Step 2: Obtain the application form from the respective authority.
