Amma Vodi Scheme

Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme is a scheme sponsored by the state of Andhra Pradesh to provide education to children below poverty line. The scheme was launched by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy on January 9, 2020.

How to apply for Amma Vodi scheme

Given below are the steps you will have to follow in order to apply for Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme:

  • You can either visit the nearest government office to obtain the application form. You can also download the application form. You can download the application form by searching for ‘download Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme’ application form on search engines. You will get appropriate links through which you can download the application form. Once you have done that, get a printout of it
  • Duly fill in the application form and make sure that all the details entered are correct
  • Affix the form with the passport size photo the child
  • Attach all the relevant documents

Eligibility for Amma Vodi Scheme

Given below is the eligibility criteria one will have to fulfil in order to avail the Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme:

  • The family should have a white ration card
  • The mother and the guardian of the child should belong to a below poverty line family
  • The family should own either a valid Aadhaar Card or a Voter ID Card
  • Any child who is studying between standard 1 to standard 12 and whose beneficiary is eligible to avail the scheme must be going to a government or in private aided and private unaided school’s/ Jr. colleges including residential schools /colleges in the state from the Academic year 2020-2021
  • It is the responsibility of the mother or the guardian to ensure that their ward maintains a minimum of 75% attendance in school
  • Both the parent and the children must be citizens of Andhra Pradesh
  • The child will not be eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme if he/she decides to discontinue their studies or quit in the middle of the academic session
  • Central and state government employees are not eligible to avail this scheme

  • The beneficiary will receive a financial assistance of Rs.15,000 on a yearly basis

  • The scheme will help in improving the literacy rate of the state of Andhra Pradesh

News About Amma Vodi scheme

  • Amma Vodi scheme benefits to be extended to sanitary workers

    The second phase of the Amma Vodi scheme will be launched by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on 11 January 2021 in Nellore. The scheme will be implemented in a transparent way across schools in the state. While the number of beneficiaries has increased, efforts are underway to bring sanitary workers also under its ambit. Under the Amma Vodi scheme, Rs.15,000 was deposited in the bank accounts of mothers sending thier children to school out of which Rs.1,000 would be deducted and used to improve and maintain toilet facilities in schools.

  • Financial assistance of Rs.15,000 offered to students under Amma Vodi scheme

    Under the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme, students hailing from underprivileged sections will be offered financial assistance of Rs.15,000 per year for the 2020-21 academic year. This was announced by the director of school education, Andhra Pradesh. Students studying in Class 1 to 12 will be eligible to avail this benefit.

    Headmasters of the respective schools will be responsible for the enrolment of children and updating their particulars. Collection of personal details, bank account and Aadhaar numbers are to be done until 30 December.

    The list of eligible students can be downloaded from the Amma Vodi portal. It will also be displayed on the school and village or ward secretariat notice boards.

    As per the District Education Officer, three 24/7 helpline centers have been opened at the DEO’s office in Visakhapatnam to supervise and implement the activities under the scheme. The helpline centers are for the education divisions of Paderu, Yelamanchili, and Visakhapatnam.
