LIC’s e-Services

Customers can use LIC e-services to get a variety of services without having to visit a firm branch. There are options for making payments online, checking the status of policies, loans, and bonuses, and filing grievances, among other things.

Through its e-Services, the life insurance Life Insurance Corporation of India has taken the effort to provide its customers with the quickest solutions to their life insurance needs. LIC's e-Services offer a number of features that were previously only available by physically visiting a firm branch. You can now take advantage of these services without leaving the comfort of your own home, thanks to the new initiative.

How to Register for LIC e Services

The steps of how to register for LIC e-Services are given below:

  • Step 1:Visit the LIC website (
  • Step 2:Locate the ‘Online Services’ box on the left hand side of the page and click on ‘Customer Portal’.
  • Step 3:You will be re-directed to the ‘LIC e-Services’ page where you will have to click on ‘Registration for e-Services’ under the ‘Functionalities Offered’ section.
  • Step 4:There will be two blocks – one which says ‘Registered User’, and the other that says ‘New User’.
  • Step 5:Select ‘New User’ and enter the details requested thereafter. The details that must be entered include any one of your LIC policies, the policy number of said policy, the date of birth of the individual as mentioned in the policy document, and the instalment premium. The individual’s Email ID and mobile number must also be provided here before checking the box which says, ‘I confirm that the mobile number mentioned above is registered under my name and is being used by me’.
  • Step 6:Hit ‘Proceed’ after entering the required information.
  • Step 7:A User ID and Password must then be selected based on the terms and conditions of the website. This user ID and password will be your login credentials for the LIC portal.
  • Step 8:A welcome mail will be sent to your registered email ID, confirming your registration for LIC e services.
  • Step 9:To login to the website, click on ‘LIC’s e-services’ and select ‘Registered User’ before entering your user ID and password.
  • Step 10:Once you have logged in to the portal, you will be able to access a variety of services such as Basic Services, e-Services, and Premier Services.

How to Use LIC e-Services

After you've registered for LIC's e-Services, you'll need to go to the e-Services link and log in with your user name and password. In order to use the portal's services, you will need to fill out a form. All of your policies will need to be registered as well. The form should be printed, signed, and uploaded to the portal as a scanned image. You should also provide a scanned image of your passport, Aadhaar card, or PAN card. The file containing the scanned image must be under 100KB in size. The image can be in the following formats:.bmp,.tiff,.jpeg,.jpg,.png, or.gif. You will receive an acknowledgement from the company once you have completed the aforementioned actions.

Facilities for Online Payment

LIC’s e-Services can be used to make your LIC premium payments online including repayment of loans, payment of loan-interest due and renewal premium due. These payments can be made through different modes such as UPI (Unified Payment Interface), credit card / debit card, net banking and BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money). The payment towards renewal premium can be done for all policies that are in force. However, policies that have been registered for premium payment via NACH (National Automated Clearing House) and those under Salary Saving Scheme cannot be renewed online. Customers are allowed to make the payment of premium a month before the due date of the policy.

The credit cards allowed by LIC’s e-Services include Amex, MasterCard and VISA, while the debit cards allowed include Rupay, MasterCard and VISA. Loan interest payments cannot be made under PMVVY (Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana) and VPBY (Varishtha Pension Bima Yojana) plan policies.

  • Policy Status and Policy Schedule:The webpage will display some of the basic information of your LIC policy, like the term of the plan, the sum assured, the first unpaid premium, the date of which coverage commenced, etc. The policy schedule will also be displayed on the page, albeit just the first page of the document.
  • Loan Status: The current position of your loan will be shown, like the extent of the due up to which the loan interest is paid, the overall outstanding loan amount under the policy, etc.
  • Bonus Status: The overall bonus accrued under the policy can be seen in LIC’s e-Services. The bonus will become payable only when the final payment is made under the policy.
  • Claims Status: The date of Maturity Benefit or Survival Benefit offered by the policy over the course of the policy term can be seen on the portal.
  • Premium Due Calendar: Information regarding your due premiums over the course of the year will be displayed in a monthly format.
  • Revival Quotation: For lapsed policies, revival quotation shall be provided.
  • Premium Paid Certificate: In case of individual policies, the history of premiums paid over the course of a fiscal year will be provided online. However, information will be displayed only for three financial years including the present fiscal year. In case of consolidated policies, the history of premiums paid will be provided. All the life insurance policies registered under the user’s name (not including children and spouse policies) will be shown over the course of the financial year. Like individual policies, the information available will only be for three financial years including the present fiscal year.
  • Proposal Form / Policy Bond Image: The portal will display a scanned image of the proposal form and the policy bond for all policies that have been enrolled on the website.
  • Claim History: Information regarding any claim that has been paid under the policy will be displayed along with the cheque / NEFT details, the amount of money paid and the date on which the payment was made.
  • Grievance Registration: Customers will have the option to register a grievance or complaint with the Life Insurance Corporation of India through this facility.

Facilities for Offline Payment

You can pay your insurance premium through National Automated Clearing House (NACH). You can also visit the ATMs of either Axis Bank or Corporation Bank to complete the payment of your insurance premium.

Claims for Death Benefit

After providing an intimation of the policyholder's death, the beneficiary or nominee of the life assured will be legally qualified to collect the death sum insured under a standard life insurance policy. The notification must be submitted with the LIC's servicing branch. Claim Form 'A' in Form Number 3783 (Form Number 3783A can be used if the policy has been in force for three years or longer), a certified extract from the death record, and the original policy bond, as well as any deeds of assignment, are all required. The company may impose additional restrictions dependent on the policy's status, in which case the servicing office will need to be contacted for more information.

Maturity Claims

Any maturity claim filed by a Life Insurance Corporation of India customer would be settled on or before the due date. The servicing branch usually sends maturity claim notifications at least two months before the maturity date. A month before the due date, you must submit the Discharged Receipt in Form Number 3825 along with your original policy bond. Your claims will be processed before the deadline if you submit them early. If you do not receive notification for your maturity claims during the next few months, you must contact the service department immediately.
