Given below are the various benefits of UPI:
The most significant benefit of UPI is that the transaction can be done anytime and anywhere. This is because there is no fixed timing set by the UPI service provider to perform transactions, unlike NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) or RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement).
UPI transactions are completely safe and secure as they are regulated by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). You can perform UPI transactions only by using the mobile number registered with your bank account. Not only this, but the amount will be debited only when the UPI PIN is entered to complete the transaction.
UPI is one of the easiest modes of sending money from one bank account to another. The sender does not have to enter complete account details of the beneficiary, such as the account holder’s name, bank account number, IFSC code, etc., and wait for 48 hours to add the beneficiary to your account. To initiate a UPI transaction, you have to enter the receiver’s mobile number that is registered with the UPI app or UPI ID and enter the PIN to complete the transaction.
The transaction will fail if you have entered an incorrect PIN. If this is the case, you can reset your UPI PIN. To reset the UPI PIN, go to your UPI profile on the app you are using and tap on the ‘Forgot UPI PIN’ option and change the PIN.
A UPI payment also fails if you have crossed the daily transaction limit. If your UPI transaction gets failed due to this reason, you can either use your other bank account, if you have any or you can retry the same transaction after 24 hours.
A UPI transaction may also fail if you have entered incorrect details of the beneficiary, like an incorrect bank account number or Indian Financial System Code (IFSC). So, it is extremely important to enter the correct bank details of the receiver and cross-check all the details before sending the money.
If you are sending an amount that is more than what is available in your account, the transaction will fail due to insufficient balance So, it is recommended to check your bank account balance once before sending money to another bank account.
