Trupay is a UPI-enabled, digital payment app that is allows customers to both send and receive money without using IFSC code or bank account number. The money transfer process is instant, direct and can be carried out using only a virtual address, also known as, Virtual Payment Address (VPA). Apart from fund transfers, users can also pay utility bills such as gas, electricity, DTH and recharge their prepaid mobile connections.

Fund transfers can be made at anytime and even on bank holidays. There is no transaction fee or other related charges for sending money using this app. This UPI payment app has tied up with more than 24 banks. How to Use the Trupay App

  • Download the Trupay app from Google Play Store.
  • Open the app and verify your mobile number.
  • Link your bank account (must be UPI-enabled).
  • Set your UPI PIN, if you haven’t already.
  • Start sending or receiving money using UPI, scan and pay, or collect request options.

How to Download Trupay

Trupay is available on both Android and iOS platforms. To download the app on your Android phone, go to Google Play Store and search for Trupay. Click on instal and the app will be downloaded onto your phone.

To download the app on an iOS phone, go to the Apple App store and search for Trupay and install the app. Once the installation process is complete, the user will have to launch the app and register for the service by following a set of simple instructions.

How to Register for Trupay

Step 1: Download the Truepay app and launch it

Step 2: Go to the app menu and click on the 'Register Bank Account' option

Step 3: Click on the 'Create Payment ID' tab and key in a preferred one. Proceed to select your bank.

Step 4: The next step is to enter the last 6 digits printed on the debit card

Step 5: You will receive an OTP. Enter the same and create an MPIN.

Step 6: Now you can send and receive money using Truepay

How to Add a Bank Account in Trupay

To add your bank account:

  • Open the Trupay app.
  • Enter and verify your mobile number (linked to your bank).
  • Trupay will fetch UPI-enabled accounts.
  • Select your bank account from the list.
  • Set or enter your existing UPI PIN.

Once done, you can use this account to send and receive money.

How to Collect Money Using Trupay

Step 1: Download the Truepay app and launch it

Step 2: Click on 'Request money and click on the person from whom you want to receive money from your contact list

Step 3: Enter the amount and send the request.

Trupay Transaction Charges

Trupay does not charge any fee for regular UPI transactions. All person-to-person transfers are free of cost.

However, in some cases like:

  1. Business or merchant payments
  2. Bulk or high-volume transfers

Your bank or service provider may apply nominal charges. Always check with your bank for specific fee details.

How to Send Money Using Trupay

Step 1: Download the Truepay app and launch it

Step 2: Click on the 'Send Money' option

Step 3: Select a payee from your phone contact list. To send money to someone not on Truepay, the user will have to add them to a 'Beneficiary list'

Step 4: Proceed to enter the transaction amount and click on 'Next'. Now verify details and click 'Send'. Enter MPIN to authenticate and complete the transaction.

  • What is a VPA?

    Ans: Also known as UPI payment ID, a Virtual Payment Address (VPA) is like an email id that is used as a means of identification to send and receive money through the app.

  • Is it possible To split payments with friends?

    Ans: Yes. to do so, go to the 'Contri' option.

  • Is Trupay App Safe to Use?

    Yes. Trupay uses bank-grade encryption, two-factor authentication, and RBI-mandated security protocols to ensure user data and transaction safety.

  • Does Trupay charge any transaction fee?

    For regular users, Trupay does not charge any transaction fee for standard UPI payments. However, for business transactions or high-volume users, nominal charges may apply based on the bank’s or NPCI’s updated guidelines. Always check the app’s Terms & Conditions or contact customer support for specific fee-related queries.  

  • Can I use Trupay internationally?

    Currently, Trupay is available only for use within India and supports Indian bank accounts that are UPI-enabled. You cannot use Trupay for international money transfers or with foreign bank accounts. However, Indian users residing abroad can access Trupay services if they maintain a valid Indian SIM card and an Indian bank account.
