Mobikwik: How to Use, Transfer & Collect Money

Mobikwik is a digital wallet that can be used for a number of online payments including transferring money, accepting payments, mobile recharges, payment of utility bills, such as electricity, internet, DTH, and online shopping, to name a few.

Mobikwik is nothing but a prepaid digital wallet, or a virtual wallet, where money can be loaded and used for a number of online payments. Mobikwik has received an approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and has tied up with a number of retail and online merchants in the country. The app is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

How to Download Mobikwik

To download Mobikwik on an Android phone, go to the Google Play Store and install it. Those with an Apple phone can download the app from the Apple app store.

How to Use/ Register for Mobikwik app


Step 1: Download the app and launch it

Step 2: Open the app and enter your registered mobile number. Click the ‘Send OTP’ option after that. You will receive an OTP. Enter it for the verification process

Step 3: You have successfully registered on Mobikwik.

How to Add Money to Mobikwik Wallet

Step 1: Login to the Mobikwik app.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Add Money’ option, enter the amount you want to add and click ‘Continue’.

Step 3: This will redirect you to the payment page, where you can add money through 3 payment options: Debit/credit card, net banking or through cash deposit/pickup. Choose an appropriate option.

Step 4: Key in payment details and click ‘Pay Now’. Enter promo code if you receive any.

Step 5: Make payment by entering password or OTP. The amount will soon reflect in your Mobikwik wallet.

How to Transfer Money using Mobikwik

Step 1: Login to the Mobikwik app

Step 2: Go to the home screen and click on ‘Transfer Money’, proceed to click ‘Wallet to Bank Transfer’.

Step 3: Key in the bank details of the beneficiary/payee, verify details and click ‘Send Money’

Step 4: You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number, verify OTP and submit the same

Step 5: The money will be sent to the respective account

MobiKwik Loan: How to Apply

The digital financial service provider recently announced the launch of instant loans on the app. This was in line with the objective of MobiKwik to provide individuals with easy and instant credit. Here, we take a look at how people can get instant loans:

  • Login to the MobiKwik app.
  • Select ‘Wallet’.
  • Click on ‘Balance Details’.
  • Click on ‘Boost’.
  • Next, click on ‘Let’s Start’ on the corresponding screen.
  • Enter the PAN and Aadhaar numbers.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions and click on ‘View Loan Details’.
  • Thereafter, follow the instructions mentioned in the corresponding screens.
  • Once the loan is approved the money is credited into the MobiKwik wallet.

  • Mobikwik Becomes the Latest App to use UPI Payments

    Mobikwik has decided to integrate the UPI method of payment after the government laid down strict regulations for UPI and KYC for digital wallet companies. The newly launched UPI facility can be availed by its customers on @ikwik, the virtual payment handle of the digital wallet company. Mobikwik has conducted multiple trial runs with the UPI feature on its app in the past few months. In addition to the UPI mode of payment, Mobikwik will also offer other mode of payments such as UPI QR and Bharat QR for the three million customers on the app.

    With this move, the Gurugram based company wants to increase the ability of the customer to switch between the virtual card and the e-wallet. The idea of the company is to allow customers to create Virtual Payment Address (VPA) just like Paytm, Whatsapp, PhonePe and Google Tez. A VPA allows the customer to link multiple bank accounts via the phone number. The company is aiming to process $2 million in transactions this year and achieve $10 billion in GTV.

  • MobiKwik announces 16% improvement in loss

    2017 being a milestone for digital transaction sector, the digital wallet company MobiKwik is reported to have managed 16% improvement in its losses. During the time of demonetisation in India, MobiKwik multiplied its payment volume by three times, but the primary reason for the small leap is said to be muted growth in revenue. After the announcement of demonetisation, Merchant discount rate (MDR) was also set at zero percent for the following months by the government which lowered the revenue growth further. The digital wallet company has been able to raise their revenue to 10% in the financial year of 2016-17 at Rs.44 crore.
