Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) - Housing for All is a housing initiative launched by the Government of India in 2015. The primary objective of this program is to provide affordable housing to the urban poor of the country by the year 2022. In the two and a half years since its inception, the scheme has proven itself to be a big hit among the general population.
People from all over the country have already applied to avail the benefits of this scheme and a vast majority of them have received it as well. As per this plan, 305 towns and cities have been chosen in nine states for the construction of housing units for the urban poor.

Moreover, the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) is working in conjunction with the government to build 2.03 lakh affordable houses in the city.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) are also working towards providing affordable houses to the urban poor in the state.
