Mission Sagar 2026

Mission Sagar was launched by the Government of India during the Covid-19 pandemic with the aim of providing humanitarian assistance to countries in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). These include Seychelles, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and others. Under ‘Mission Sagar’, the Indian Navy provided food, equipment, and medical supplies to these countries.

The mission also aligns with a policy named ‘Security and Growth for All in the Region’ (SAGAR) which was introduced in 2015 with the aim of providing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) to the friendly maritime countries in the IOR.
