Government of India launches various government schemes in the country that helps in enhancing the living standards of the citizens. There are basically two types of schemes, such as central sector and centrally sponsored schemes.

The central schemes are fully funded by the Central Government, while under the centrally sponsored schemes, the state government bears a certain percentage of the cost of the scheme. Central government schemes are specially designed for the development of the country. Here is the list of some of the significant government schemes in India.
