    • Religare Heath to focus on corporate group insurance

Most health insurers are reducing their exposure to group and corporate insurance, as there is a huge loss ratio of 80%, and heavy competition with companies constantly undercutting each other’s prices.

Religare is one of the few insurers that focuses on preventative health care, providing free health check-ups, and marketing to the huge section of the society that is willing to pay a little more for a quality service portfolio. This is in the current scenario of insurers backing away from corporate and group insurance.

Going forward, the company plans to continue to focus on corporate group insurance, as its customer base currently stands at 2,500 companies – up from 1,600 companies just 9 months ago. The company will also rely heavily on technology to settle claims and provide authorizations in a faster and more efficient manner, and also to stay connected with its stakeholders.

    • Report on Religare Health Insurance Premium by General Insurance Council

Anuj Gulati, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Religare Health Insurance reports that “We (Religare) have reported a gross written premium of Rs. 275.8 crore for the year 2014-15. We continue to invest in building a very strong service foundation for offering best-in-class services to our customers and distribution partners." This report arises amidst accounts of a growing standalone health insurance sector, which is reported to have grown at 30% to Rs.2,946 crore in financial year 2014-2015 (According to General Insurance Council data).

The IRDA, in the amended Insurance Act of 2015, recognizes health insurance as an independent vertical and has modified its regulations for the same. Policyholders will now be able to lock into premiums for a longer tenure, amidst rising medical inflation rates, to maintain health insurance benefits at an affordable cost. This helps insurers, too, as it ensures customer loyalty.

Religare Group CEO Shachindra Nath said in February this year that the new budget will “unleash India’s growth potential” with its rationalization of corporate taxes, deferment of GAAR rules, proposals to allow foreign investments, etc. Whether it will fix the country’s financial situation is yet to be seen, but it certainly seems to have done so in Religare’s case.

I had taken a health plan with Religare. This was taken for my parents especially. The representative came to my place and they had done the needful for me. I am supposed to pay about 45 k per annum and I normally pay the premium by cheque. I do have one claim experience and it was really horrible as I got very less amount in turn.

My mom was admitted to rockland in Emergency condition on 05th Feb at 4 Pm in evening. I made a claim for reimbursement and sent all the required documents to Religare. But my claim has been rejected with reason "Pre existing illness" They are saying that I could have been treated in OPD and admission was not required. I went to hospital at 4pm In evening in emergency condition. I sent Doctors letter on letter head in which it was mention that admission was necessary and I was admitted in emergency condition. I contacted all the concerned person, grievance cell etc but my case is not resolved. Religare health insurance is frustrating, horrible. harassing the customer, genuine claims are rejected without reason. no response from grievances cell. End of my review I am stuck due to baseless stupid inspection by #religare, simply fraud, we pays premium to insure ourself, not to get trauma.#fraudreligare #boycottreligare #healthinsurance

Don't make mistake of taking policy from Religare. They rejected my mother's claim for knee surgery by saying that she is suffering from diabetes and blood pressure, when she does not have BP or diabetes. Their intention right from the start was to reject the claim. , There is no connection between her knee surgery due to osteo-arthiritis and borderline diabetes or heart disease or hypertension. This health insurance claim is for knee replacement surgery and not any heart/hypertension/diabetes related illness.

They do business only for rejection the claim and making people fool. they reject the claim based on previous doctor prescription instead of Reports. suppose, I have some problem and I can't speak that day only since morning, and doctor describe in his note that I can't speak since morning, and then if doctor ask me for the report and they are normal, then it is really not considered as a problem.

You have exceeded the level of patience I had for the same.. It is actually il-ethical way that your treating with me that is why i am getting irritated with the conduct of business that you doing.. If u are not able to satisfy the customer then better let us know the same .We are actually wasting our money and time. The amount that I m claiming is not a big amount for me but more important is your service which is lacking. It's has been already 30 day's, i know you will provide claim reimbursement service within 15 working day. I think it's time to move out and close the chapter and move in other way for reimbursement.
