I had a home loan from Standard chartered bank and i have closed it already. Some years back, this was my first home loan, i got consulted by my colleague because we both invested in the same time for my home and i didn't do any market search regarding the home loan. During the period of taking the loan, they had a option of fixed interest rates. Since it was in a hurry for my second home loan, i have sent a documents through mail, but no one responded me properly even though i have done a proper follow up. Nobody called me regarding the loan offer so i dropped it even though i was happy about it.

Interest rate charged by SCB is a little higher when compared with other banks like ICICI bank and PNB. It is a bit higher when compared with others . Interest rate is 9.65% . Processing fee charged by SCB is a bit high when compared with others. It was quite some time now since I had approached them for the same housing loan.

SCB was too quick and they hardly took 3 weeks of time. The only disadvantage is they were charging me high rate of interest and they did not revise the rate when there was a fall in the rate. Also they are not responding and they are not paying attention when it comes to reducing the rate therefore I had switched over to an other bank

      0.5 3.0/5 "Satisfactory"
SCB really needs to change on customer services for the home loan. They might be very process oriented but there should be some kind of transparency in details and most of all they need to be fast as they keep slowing down in giving a response, where as a customer cannot wait for long to get updates in financial matters.
