The Baroda Samriddhi Quarterly Recurring Deposit is a specialized savings scheme offered by Bank of Baroda, designed for individuals who prefer to make quarterly deposits rather than monthly ones. This scheme encourages regular savings with the flexibility of quarterly contributions, making it suitable for those who receive income or have savings inflows on a quarterly basis.
A recurring deposit is helpful to people who can save in small amounts rather than lump sums. These deposits help individuals build a savings fund or corpus which can be used for investment or emergencies.
Bank of Baroda offers a unique scheme to help customers save in quarterly instalments rather than every month. This scheme aims at cultivating a habit of regular savings. Interest is also calculated on a quarterly basis. A customer requires Rs. 500 to open the deposit, and subsequent deposits can be made in multiples of Rs. 100.
Deposit amount - One can open this deposit with a minimum of Rs. 500. After the initial deposit, subsequent instalments can be in multiples of Rs. 100.
Tenure - The minimum tenure required on this scheme is 36 months. The maximum tenure available is 120 months. So customers can choose to deposit money within a range of 3 years to 10 years.
Interest Rates - The interest offered on this deposit is compounded per quarter. The interest is paid out on maturity of the RD.
Premature Withdrawal - Bank of Baroda allows you to prematurely close your deposit. The penalty for this facility is that your interest will be calculated at 1% lesser than the applicable rate of interest for the period completed.
Nomination - There is a facility for nomination available. This allows you to name your spouse, family member or close person to receive the deposit amount in case of your unfortunate death.
Loan Facility - You can avail of a loan or overdraft against your Samriddhi Quarterly RD. Bank of Baroda will loan you up to 95% of the RD amount.
The interest rates offered on these deposits range from 6.75% to 7.30%. The rates are subject to change from time to time. Bank of Baroda's revised interest rates will be applicable to new and renewed deposits.
