A recurring deposit is helpful to people who can save in small amounts rather than lump sums. These deposits help individuals build a savings fund or corpus which can be used for investment or emergencies. Bank of Baroda offers a unique scheme to help customers save in quarterly instalments rather than every month. This scheme aims at cultivating a habit of regular savings. Interest is also calculated on a quarterly basis. A customer requires Rs. 500 to open the deposit, and subsequent deposits can be made in multiples of Rs. 100.

    Features and Benefits

    Deposit amount

One can open this deposit with a minimum of Rs. 500. After the initial deposit, subsequent instalments can be in multiples of Rs. 100.

The minimum tenure required on this scheme is 36 months. The maximum tenure available is 120 months. So customers can choose to deposit money within a range of 3 years to 10 years.

    Interest Rates

The interest offered on this deposit is compounded per quarter. The interest is paid out on maturity of the RD.

    Premature Withdrawal

Bank of Baroda allows you to prematurely close your deposit. The penalty for this facility is that your interest will be calculated at 1% lesser than the applicable rate of interest for the period completed.

There is a facility for nomination available. This allows you to name your spouse, family member or close person to receive the deposit amount in case of your unfortunate death.
