A recurring deposit is helpful to people who can save in small amounts rather than lump sums. These deposits help individuals build a savings fund or corpus which can be used for investment or emergencies. Bank of Baroda offers a unique scheme to help customers save in quarterly instalments rather than every month. This scheme aims at cultivating a habit of regular savings. Interest is also calculated on a quarterly basis. A customer requires Rs. 500 to open the deposit, and subsequent deposits can be made in multiples of Rs. 100.
