    Star Mediclassic Insurance is a health insurance policy offered by Star Health insurance Company to meet your various medical needs non-allopathic treatment. With this policy, you can get enhanced medical coverage.

    Features & Benefits of Star Mediclassic Insurance:

    Entry Age Any individual between 5 months to 65 years of age can buy this health insurance policy. Children can be covered only with parents.
    Basis Individual
    Medical Screening All individuals above the age of 50 years need to undergo pre-acceptance medical screening at company nominated health centers. The cost of screening will be borne by the insurance company.
    Renewability Lifelong renewability is available.

    Policy Term Policy is available for 1 to 2 years. In case of a 2 year policy, a discount of 5% is offered on the premium paid for two years.
    Sum Assured For individuals, the highest sum insured is Rs. 15,00,000. For Family Package plan, the highest sum insured is Rs.3,00,000.
    Premiums Premiums vary depending on sum assured, age, family size and zone. It ranges from Rs.2, 510 to Rs.88,170 for individual plans. For Family Package plan, it ranges from Rs. 4,460 to Rs.7,805. These premiums are applicable for Zone II.
    Co-payments A co-payment of 10% is applicable for individuals above 60 years at entry level and subsequent renewals.

    • Post hospitalization expenses are paid as lump-sum up to a specified limit.

    • The policy offers portability. You can transfer your policy from one insurance provider to another.
    Bonus Get bonus up to 25% for every claim free year. In case of a claim made, bonus will be reduced by 5%. However, it is not applicable for Family Package plan.
    Exclusions Hospital registration charges, admission charges, telephone charges, expenses incurred in weight control services, cost incurred in spectacle and contact lens, dental surgery cost, neuropathy treatments etc. are not covered under this policy.

      "Pathetic Customer Support for Claims"

      I took an Individual MediClassic policy as health cover for my parent and when I asked for a claim, their customer support was not upto the mark or rather way way way too below the mark. These people would reply to my emails only after repeated reminders/personal visits, would scarcely reply to any letter/email/phone call in response to my claim or to inform me about rejecting my claim, and never followed any time-limits set by IRDA for settling claims. No adverse intentions, but I would advise everyone to please think many a times before choosing any policy from this company. Thank you.
