The general inclusions or coverages of Acko Health Insurance are as follows: 

  1. The in-patient treatment covers various expenses associated with a policyholder’s treatment such as room charges, doctor’s consultation, ICU costs, nursing costs, etc.  
  2. Acko Health Insurance covers post-hospitalisation charges based on the policy’s terms and conditions.  
  1. Daycare procedures cover minor surgeries such as tonsil removal, cataract, and similar treatments that need less than 24 hours of hospitalisation.

Acko Health Insurance Exclusion

Here are the conditions that are not covered by Acko Health Insurance plans: 

  1. The policy does not cover the expenses associated with treating intentional injuries sustained while attempting suicide. 
  2. Treatment needed as a result of engaging in criminal activity is not covered. 
  3. Cosmetic and dental surgery costs are excluded unless they are necessary as a result of an accident. 
  4. Infertility treatment is typically not covered by health insurance. 
  5. The policy does not cover accidents that occur while participating in adventure sports.

How to Claim Acko Health Insurance

Acko Health Insurance enables you to make a claim in two ways: cashless claim and reimbursement claim. 

1. Cashless Claim

Cashless health insurance allows you to make medical bill payments directly to the hospital through Acko Health Insurance. You must be hospitalised at one of the network hospitals included by the insurance company in order to receive this benefit, and you may claim up to the sum insured. To raise a cashless claim, follow the steps mentioned below: 

Step 1: Go to the hospital’s insurance help desk and give your policy card.  

Step 2: Start your cashless claim by filling out a pre-authorisation form.  

Step 3: If your claim is approved, your claim will be settled with the hospital after taking your deductibles into account. 

Step 4: You can make a reimbursement claim if your cashless claim was rejected.  

2. Reimbursement Claim

A reimbursement claim is a type of claim settlement you need to pay the hospitalisation/medical bills for the treatment you received. Acko Health Insurance will reimburse this amount when you raise a reimbursement claim after discharge.  

Here are the steps to follow in case of a reimbursement claim: 

Step 1: Notify Acko Health Insurance about the hospital and medical treatment.  

Step 2: Utilize medical care at the hospital of your preference. 

Step 3: Pay off all hospital bills. 

Step 4: Obtain original hospital records, including medical bills, diagnostic and laboratory reports, the discharge summary, etc.  

Step 5: Fill out the health insurance claim form completely by downloading it from the official website of Acko Health Insurance.  

Step 6: Make sure the hospital signs and seals all the documents. 

Step 7: Make a reimbursement claim online or via email.  

Step 8: Submit the health insurance claim form and supporting documents.  

Upon approval, your claim will be settled based on the policy’s terms and conditions. In case your claim is rejected, Acko Health Insurance will notify you stating the reason for the same.
