Swamitva Yojana is a scheme launched by the Government of India on National Panchayat Day on 24 April 2020. The aim of this property cards scheme is to validate property legally in an integrated way in rural India. The scheme will enable property owners to download property cards through an SMS link and later get a physical copy of these cards. The yojana will give property holders a legal document of ownership of their houses.
Currently, this yojana is present in the states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Haryana across 763 villages in these states. It is being implemented across the country in a phased manner from 2020 to 2024 with the aim of covering more than 6 lakh villages in India.

People in rural areas of India with populated land on or after 25 September 2018 will be eligible to obtain land ownership records. Applicants must also have Aadhar cards that are linked to their mobile numbers.
Under this property card scheme, drones will be used by the government to measure land and create a digital map of properties that are within the village limits.
