  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Haryana

The state of Haryana falls under the “Urban” category of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme. The PMAY housing for all plan was launched by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation (MOHUPA) with a vision to provide a proper house for every family residing in India. Before you read the information related to the PMAY guidelines in Haryana, let’s start with a quick introduction as to what the scheme is all about. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (or PMAY) was launched in June 2015 as an initiative taken by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, to offer affordable housing to the slum dwellers and the economically weaker sections or the urban poor in the country.

As per the PMAY Urban housing scheme, The Central Government of India has proposed to build about 2 crore houses for the Indian groups belonging to the groups listed below:

    • The LIG(or Low Income Groups) that are living in the urban areas.
    • The EWS (or Economically Weaker Sections) that are living in the urban areas.
    • The MIG 1 & 2 (Middle Income Groups) that are living in the urban areas.
    • The slum dwellers that are living in the urban areas.

The Central Government has invested about Rs.3200 crores to execute the PMAY mission. It has four crucial components:

    • Affordable Housing in Partnership with both private & public sector
    • Beneficiary house construction or enhancement
    • In-situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR)
    • Affordable Housing via Credit Linked Subsidy

As per the four components mentioned above, the financial aid will fall from Rs.1 lakh to Rs.2.3 lakh.

Note: The houses allotted under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana subsidy will be owned by:

    • The female in the family, or
    • Jointly with the male
