• Punjab Ration Card

    If you are a citizen of Punjab and belong to an economically weaker group, then you can apply for a smart ration card. A ration card is a government approved document which allows you to purchase essential commodities at a much cheaper rate and also avail various government schemes.

    Punjab Ration Card eligibility

    • Should be a resident of Punjab
    • The applicant should have an Aadhaar Card
    • The head of the family must have a bank account
    • The applicant must be able to produce a passport size photo of the family and some necessary documents
    • The applicant can have only one ration card in his/her name
    • The applicant must qualify under the income slabs as per the AAY and PHH schemes

    Documents required to apply for Punjab Ration Card

    • Proof of address such as Aadhaar, utility bills, etc.
    • Rent receipt if the applicant is living in a rented house.
    • If you as an applicant is moving from one town to another, then the surrender certificate is to be shown.
    • Residence certificate and the total number of family members available is to be shown if the applicant is working in a government or a private firm.
    • Residence certificate and number of members by Institutional Head or Reporting Officer if you are working in Registered Industrial Institutions.
    • Residential address and education certificate if you are a student living in an Urban Area.
    • PAN Card is to be provided.
    • Two passport size photographs of the head of the family and the passport size photograph of the family is to be provided.

    How to apply for Punjab Ration Card

    Currently the process to apply for Punjab Ration Card through online channels are not available. However, the Government of Punjab will soon launch the process on their online portal.

    You can apply for a ration card offline by visiting the EPDS Punjab Department and requesting for an application form. Duly fill the application form and submit it along with all the necessary documents. You will have to pay a nominal fee following which you will receive an Acknowledgment Number. Once the application form is submitted, it will be processed and if all the details are correct, then you will receive your ration card within 15-20 days.

    How to change name in Punjab Ration Card

    You will have to visit the EPDS Punjab Department Office and request for a change in name application form. Duly fill the application form and submit it. You may also be required to submit documents mentioning your correct name. The form will be processed and if all the details are correct, a new ration card will be issued where the correct name will reflect.

    Visit the EPDS Punjab Department Office and request for a change in address form. Fill the new address details and submit it along with proof of address.
