The Assam Government, through the Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) of the Nation Food Security Act, 2013 issues ration cards to certain families of the state. A ration card is a document through which families of low income (as determined by PDS), or below the poverty line can avail food grains at a subsidised rate. Ration cards are now issued under the NFSA Scheme in Assam.
You can check the Assam ration card list 2021 online. Here are the steps that you need to follow:
|AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana||Families which have an annual income of less than Rs.1 lakh. They can avail 35kg/ration card.|
|PHH (Priority Household)||The PHH ration cards are given to families who live on an annual income of below Rs.1 lakh and they can avail 5kg/family member.|

You have to visit the concerned Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs branch office to apply for a ration card.
In order to make changes to the address on your ration card, you will need to submit your original ration card and one of the following documents:
Once your application and the documents have been verified by the concerned authorities, your ration card will be processed within 2-3 weeks.
These are the details that will be printed on your ration card: information of the head of the family and immediate family members and their relationship with the head of the family, date of birth, your address and occupation.
As per the PDS, there is no provision where you can use the Assam ration card in any other state of India.
