It offers a choice of sum insured ranging from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs which may be given out as a lump sum in case there is a confirmed diagnosis of a critical illness health insurance. The ailments that this are differentiated into two groups based on them being life threatening or leading to a disability.

  2. Organ transplants for major organs
  3. Multiple sclerosis
  4. Third degree burns
  5. Surgery to graft an aorta
  1. Diseases / conditions leading to disability:
  1. Heart valve replacement
  2. Being in a coma for more than 30 days
  3. Quadriplegia
  4. Blindness
  5. End stage renal disease leading to the failure of both kidneys

Benefits

  1. Premiums paid towards this policy are eligible for tax benefits under section 80D of the IT Act
  2. The policy offers cashless hospitalisation facilities
  3. No medical tests are required till the age of 45 years
  4. Provides cover for 10 major illness and procedures

Pre-existing diseases and condition will not be covered Diseases or conditions that develop in the first 3 months of the policy will not be covered Any diagnosis that is not scientifically recognises will not be covered Critical illness that result from pregnancy Critical illness that are a result of smoking, tobacco consumption, alcohol or drugs Cosmetic surgery or sex change operations Critical illnesses that are a result of HIV
