NKGSB Co-operative Bank IFSC Code:

Until very recently, sending money to a bank account within the country had to be done by depositing a cheque or by demand draft, the first of which is time-consuming and the second relatively expensive. You would also have to wait till the bank processed both, which would generally take at least one day. However, with the introduction of online banking, many banking processes have moved online. This has extended to money transfers as well. Nowadays you can transfer money through a safe and secure method using the National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) services. Money transferred through these services would be deposited in the beneficiary’s account in a few hours from the transfer request being made. Another advantage is the whole process is done online, reducing the risk of human error.

To avail these services, you would need to fill up the NEFT/RTGS Fund Transfer form. Available at bank branches that are a part of the NEFT network set up by the Reserve Bank of India, you are required to fill in details like the name of the beneficiary, the amount being transferred and the bank details of the beneficiary like bank name, account number and IFSC code.

The IFSC or Indian Financial Systems Code is a unique code that is assigned to all bank branches that are part of the NEFT network. It helps the RBI to monitor online transactions taking place in the country, as well as figuring out the bank branches of the two parties involved in the transaction.

The code is 11 characters long and consists of 4 letters that represent the name of the bank and 6 numbers representing the code for the particular bank branch, separated by the number “0”. The NKGSB Bank IFSC code for the Kalyan branch, located in Thane district is NKGS0000044. In the code, “NKGS” stands for the name of the bank, the fifth character is “0” which is left blank for use later and “000044” is the IFSC code for Kalyan branch.

When making a fund transfer request, the IFSC codes of the beneficiary as well as the entity making the payment have to be entered.
