IFSC (Indian Financial System Code) is an 11-character unique identification code assigned to the bank by RBI. It is alphanumeric, i.e., it comprises of both alphabets and numbers. IFSC code aids in the process of electronic transfers between individuals or organisations. The first 4 characters of the IFSC code are alphabetic and stand for the name of the bank, the fifth character is 0(zero) which is kept for later use, the next six characters is the branch code referring to the bank-branch. For instance, LAVB0000499 is the IFSC code of Janpath New Delhi Branch of LVB. In this case, ‘LAVB’stands for the name of the bank ‘Lakshmi Vilas Bank’ and the last 6 numbers of the code represent the branch of the bank, Janpath New Delhi.
There are many ways you can search IFSC & MICR codes for any branch of LVB.
LVB IFSC & MICR codes can also be found on BankBazaar’s website. The home page of the website displays a tab labelled ‘Bank IFSC Code’. Clicking on that tab takes you to another page which requires you to input other bank details such as name of the bank, state, district and name of the branch.
Once the details are filled-in, the resulting page generates the queried IFSC code and MICR code, along with other information about the bank, like the address and the phone number.
