With the RBI’s introduction of NEFT and RTGS facilities, the face of Indian banking has changed. With banking processes like money transfers moving online now, customers can easily make direct money transfers to recipients without the hassle of mountains of paperwork and multiple queues. Transferring money through the NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) or RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) is a quick and simple process wherein you have to enter the IFSC code of the recipient along with their bank details. The IFSC (Indian Financial System Code) is issued by RBI to all bank branches within the NEFT network. This is a unique code that aids the central bank in monitoring online fund transactions in India and also serves to identify both the origin as well as the destination bank in a transaction.
An IFSC code is made up of 11 characters and is divided into three sections. The first of these are four letters denoting the name of the bank. The next section is the number “0” that is left blank for use later, and the last section are 6 numbers that denote the bank branch. An example of an IFSC code for the Janata Sahakari Bank branch in Latur, Latur district, Maharashtra is JSBP0000013, where “JSBP” indicates the Janata Sahakari Bank Pune, “0” is the digit left blank for future use and “000013” indicates the specific branch in Latur.
Looking for IFSC and MICR codes is a very simple process. IFSC codes can be found on the bank’s website, where there will be a list of all the branches and their IFSC codes. IFSC & MICR codes are also printed on the leaves of cheque books issued by the branch. Another way to search for IFSC codes is through sites like BankBazaar. Here you can find all the IFSC codes for banks across the country at a glance. All you have to do is visit the homepage and click on the tab “IFSC Bank Code”. You will be re-directed to a page that asks you to type in the name of the bank. You will then have to fill in details like the state, district and bank branch from drop down menus. On doing so, you will be provided with the IFSC and MICR codes for the branch in question.

Janata Sahakari Bank’s NEFT and RTGS services to transfer funds are a secure and efficient way to transfer funds across the country. The NEFT service is not only a quick way to send money but also a secure means to do so, since the banks are regulated by RBI guidelines. Another advantage is that the service is affordable, so everyone can use it. Below are the guidelines on availing these two services.
NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer):
NEFT is a facility where customers can make one-to-one online fund transfers to any bank account registered with the NEFT network within the country. It has no upper or lower limit, meaning customers are free to send any amount they desire to the recipient and be assured of a quick credit into the recipient’s account.
Janata Sahakari Bank, Pune offers this facility to its customers from Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The service will not be available on the second and fourth Saturdays in the month. Transfer requests are settled in hourly batches, with the first batch starting from 9:00 am. In case of a request received after the close of NEFT service hours, it would be processed on the next business day. Customers can avail this service either by visiting a bank branch and making their transfer request or they can download a form online and submit it. The bank offers NEFT services to customers who have accounts with the bank as well as those who do not bank with them. The bank levies a fee for utilization of this service, which is given below.
