National Nutrition Mission, also known as ‘Poshan Abhiyaan,’ is an Indian Government flagship program launched to solve malnutrition issues prevalent in the country. This program has been rolled out in 36 states and Union Territories across the country.
The National Nutrition Mission launched is a flagship program launched by the Indian Government in 2018 to tackle malnutrition issues across the country. This program, popularly known as ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’ targets malnourished children aged between zero to six years, adolescents, and lactating mother to improve their nutritional status within a set time frame. This main goal of this scheme is to provide nourishment, reduce stunting and wasting among young children and to lower anemia levels in women, children, and adolescent girls.
