  1. The applicant should be at least 14 years old and minimum 18 years old in case of hazardous industries.

  1. The applicant should not be employed anywhere else.

Details for the National Apprenticeship Scheme

  1. As an apprentice you will receive a monthly stipend during your training. 
  1. If you are an engineering graduate, you will receive a stipend of Rs.4,984 in a month. 
  1. If you are a technician, you will receive a stipend of Rs.3,542 in a month. 
  1. If you are a vocational pass out, you will receive a stipend of Rs.2,758 in a month. 

Note: The stipend amount listed above is as on 29 August 2025 and is subject to change at the discretion of the government. 

How to Apply for the National Apprenticeship Scheme

Follow the steps given below to apply for the National Apprenticeship Scheme: 

Step 1: You will first have to visit https://nats.education.gov.in/index.php 

Step 2: On the menu-bar, choose the option ‘Student’, and click on ‘Student Register’. 

Step 3: You will be redirected to ‘Registration Page’. 

Step 4: You will be required to fill in all the details on the registration page like name, educational qualification, mobile number, email ID, etc. 

Step 5: Once you have completely filled in the registration form, check it once before clicking on ‘Submit’. 

Step 6: You will find all the details related to apprenticeship advertisements on the dashboard. Apply for a suitable apprenticeship. 

Step 7: Once you have submitted the application, you can track the status of your application under the management section. 

Step 8: You need to accept the contract request from the establishment before it goes to the board for approval. 

Do note that once your contract is created, your profile gets locked, to stop you from applying elsewhere. Any changes to the profile can only be made by sending a request to the board of apprentice.
