Equifax’s consumer credit bureau provides credit information report (CIR) which consists of various pertinent details such as delinquent accounts, new account openings, repayment history and inquiries made on a customer among others. Banks always check the credit score of loan applicants to ensure that they do not end up giving bad loans. A healthy credit report sends a positive signal to the lenders about the repayment capacity of a borrower.

How to access Equifax credit report

Registered Equifax members can access their credit reports by filling in the credit report request form in four steps as listed below:

• The KYC form (request) has to be duly filled in by a customer for acquiring his credit report. The KYC form can be received via regular post
• Copies (self-attested) of identity and address proof have to be attached with the form
• A customer has to pay Rs.400 for acquiring both credit report and score and Rs.138 for basic credit information report
• All the aforementioned documents have to sent via speed post, regular post or courier to Equifax
