What is SSP Pre-Matric Scholarship?

The SSP Pre-Matric Scholarship is a government initiative offered through the State Scholarship Portal (SSP) of Karnataka. It is designed to provide financial assistance to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are pursuing their pre-matriculation education (up to Class 10). The primary objective is to encourage education among students, particularly those from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and other minority communities.

Eligible students can apply for this award by enrolling on the State Scholarship Portal maintained by the Karnataka Government (SSP). Students can submit applications for pre- and post-matriculated scholarships via this website. 

How to Register for SSP Pre-Matric Scholarship?

You can follow these steps to register for SSP Pre-Matric Scholarship:

Step 1: Visit the official website of SSP.

Step 2: Click on the 'Create an account' tab.

Step 3: Students who study in standards from I to X will have to select the 'pre matric' option.

Step 4: Enter your 'SATS ID' in the box given below and click on 'Get Data' following which the following details such as your name, date of birth, the school in which you study, and the name of your mother and father will be displayed on your computer screen.

Step 5: Check the details mentioned and then click on 'Save and Proceed'.

Step 6: Click on the pop up containing the details of your SATS.

Step 7: Choose "Yes" if your SATS information is accurate; otherwise, click "No." You must bear in mind that the SSP officials will reject your application if you click "Yes" notwithstanding any incorrect information relating to your SATS. 

Step 8: You will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on your mobile number after clicking "Yes" entering your mobile number, and clicking "Submit". After entering the OTP, press "Submit."

Step 9: The next step will require you to create a password. Make sure your password consists of a minimum of eight characters and has a number. Also, there should not be any blank spaces in your password. Click on 'Submit'.

Step 10: Once you submit the details, your SSP scholarship account will be activated. The details to log in to the portal which is your User ID and Password will be sent to your mobile number.

How to Log in to the SSP Scholarship Portal?

Follow the steps mentioned below to log into the SSP pre-matric scholarship:

Step 1: Click on the link https://ssp.karnataka.gov.in/.

Step 2: Click on 'Student Login', following which you will have to enter your User ID and Password and click on 'Login'.

Step 3: Once you have logged in, you can apply for pre-matric scholarship by choosing the option 'Apply for SSP pre-matric scholarship'.

Step 4: You will then need to enter information such your school, study year, guardians' names, birthdate, mobile number, Aadhaar number, and email address. Click "Save and Proceed" after all the necessary information has been entered.

Step 5: Enter your course information, then press "Save and Proceed." You will see an acknowledgment message on your screen once all the information has been successfully entered. Click the "e-sign" option if you have an Aadhaar card.

Step 6: The final step will require you to submit the details of your scholarship to your school along with a copy of the acknowledgment message.

Eligibility Criteria for SSP Pre-Matric Scholarship

The following are the eligibility criteria for SSP Pre-Matric Scholarship:

  1. Candidates must belong from SC, ST, OBC, or from other backward community
  2. Candidates pursuing studies from Class 1 to 10
  3. Family should not exceed Rs.1 lakh
  4. Marks secured in the last qualifying examination should be 50%
  5. Parents of candidates should not have regular jobs
  6. Should be a domicile in Karnataka

  1. Your SATS number or college registration number
  2. National Scholarship Portal ID (NSP ID)
  3. Mobile number
  4. Your or your parents Aadhaar details
  5. Certificate of income
  6. Details of your bank account
  7. E-attestation number
  8. Mark sheet
  9. Bonafide or study certificate
  10. Receipt of the fees paid
  11. Certificate stating your stay at a hostel
  12. Disability card number if applicable
  13. For children of farmers, provide FRUITS ID
  14. Certificate of kin of defence personnel
