NSP - National Scholarship Portal

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a digital platform that allows applicants to search and apply for more than 50 scholarships granted by the federal and provincial governments. Scholarships from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grants Commission (UGC), and other government entities are also available through the platform. Scholarships ranging from standard 1 to PhD level can be found here.

The NSP was designed as a one-stop digital platform for scholarship applications and disbursement under the National e-Government Plan (NeGP). The scholarships are sent immediately to the beneficiary's bank account using the Simplified, Mission-oriented, Accountable, Responsive, and Transparent (SMART) system, ensuring a speedy and transparent process.

How to Apply for Scholarships through the NSP

You can only apply for the NSP if the educational institution you are currently studying in is registered on the portal. If it is not registered, you can get in touch with your institute to initiate the registration process.

The steps required to apply for NSP are as given below:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of NSP at
  • Step 2: Click on the ‘'New Registration’' button on the top navigation tab

  • Step 4: Tick on the boxes at the bottom of the page to show you have read and agreed to the guidelines

How to Login on NSP portal:

Once you have completed the registration process as described above, you can start the log-in process with steps as given below:

  • Step 1: Click on the log-in button on the website of NSP
  • Step 2: Enter the application ID and the password that was sent to your registered mobile number

  • Step 4: Fill in all the required details

  • Step 6: Now add the scheme details and your contact details

  • Step 9: Click on ‘'Final Submit’'

Applying for Scholarships Via Mobile App

Download the NSP mobile app from the Google Play Store to apply for scholarships through NSP. It's also available on the UMANG mobile app from the Indian government. All you have to do now is register for the scholarship and apply.

  • If your educational institute is located in a place different your domicile certificate, you need to furnish a bonafide student certificate
