SSP Post Matric Scholarship

The Government of Karnataka's SSP Post Matric Scholarshihelps post-matric students from economically disadvantaged families, including Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), and Economically Backward Classes (EBC).

In the system, 30% of the quota is set aside for female students. This scheme has been introduced for overall development and secure future of socially and economically backward students.

The last date for submitting applications for SSP Post Matric Application 2025-2026 is 15 January 2026 for the candidates who are applying through the Backward Classes Welfare Department (excluding PUC, ITI, and Diploma in Polytechnic).

How to Register for SSP Post Matric Scholarship?

You can register for the SSP Post Matric Scholarship by following the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of SSP Karnataka 

Step 2: On the homepage, click on 'Create Account' 

Step 3: Choose your category (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/General). Provide your Aadhar number and a new page will open

Step 4: Fill in the details such as your name as per Aadhaar and and Aadhaar number 

Step 5: Agree to the terms and conditions and click on submit 

Step 5: Next, you will need to provide your contact details (mobile number, e-mail ID and phone number) 

Step 6: You will get an OTP on your mobile number which you need to fill to proceed further 

Step 7: Enter your ration card number.

Step 8: From the list of family members, select your name and click on “Proceed”.

Step 9: Create a password and click on “Submit”.

How to Log in to the SSP Post Matric Scholarship Portal?

In order to apply for the scholarship, you need to follow the below given steps: 

Step 1: Visit the SSP website and login into your account 

Step 2: Complete your e-KYC before applying by clicking on e-KYC option 

Step 3: After completing the e-KYC, click on the option “Apply for Post- Matric option” on homepage 

Step 4: Fill in the study, caste and personal details. You will need to provide a caste or income certificate in your name. It is now mandatory for many categories to provide an NSP-OTR (National Scholarship Portal- One Time Registration) number during the process.

Step 5: Review the details once and then fill in your college details, E-Attestation Details and hostel details. 

Step 6: After completing all the details, preview your form and click on submit to complete the application procedure. 

Note: It is mandatory for all students to register on the KUTUMBA Portal before applying for any scholarship through the State Scholarship Portal (SSP) 

How to Reset Your SSP Scholarship Login Password?

The following are the steps to retrieve login password, in case candidates forget their password:

  1. Visit the official website
  2. Click on ‘Forgot password’ on student login page
  3. Enter student ID and the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  4. Create and confirm a new password

How to Find Your Student ID?

The following are the steps to know the student ID:

  1. Visit the SSP official website
  2. Click on SSP Student account Login
  3. Click on ‘Know Your Student ID’
  4. Enter the Aadhaar number and the registered mobile number to receive an OTP.
  5. Click on ‘Get student ID’, to view the candidate’s student ID

Eligibility Criteria for SSP Post Matric Scholarship

Mentioned below criteria must be fulfilled to apply for Post Matric Scholarship: 

  1. Domicile of Karnataka
  1. Annual family income below Rs.2.50 lakh per annum for SC/ST and Category-1 students. However, the limit is Rs.1 lakh for other OBC categories (2A, 3A, 3B) and up to Rs.8 lakh for Brahmin community students. 
  1. Minimum 50% marks in this previous examination for Category-1 and Minority students, while it is 60% for other OBC categories. 
  1. Students seeking admission in 11th, 12th, B.Com, and ITI courses along with medical, engineering and PhD programs. 
  1. Graduates from ST, SC, OBC, central OBC, EBC, and minority categories 
  1. Applicants are required to have a bank account that must be linked to their Aadhaar number and seeded with NPCI for Direct Benefit Transfer. 

Documents Required for SSP Post-Matric Scholarship

The following are the essential documents required for SSP Post-Matric Scholarship

  1. Income and caste certificates with a valid RD (Revenue Department) number issued by the Government of Karnataka. 
  1. Aadhar card of applicant and parent 
  1. Proof of college fee payment for the current academic year. 
  1. Ration card number   
  1. Students email ID and mobile number 
  1. UDID identification number (required only for students with disabilities) 
  1. District, taluk, address of student’s residence, and assembly constituency  
  1. University or college registration number of the students 
  1. SSLC registration number and year of passing  
  1. E-attestation number and hostel details (If applicable) 
  1. Photographs of the applicant  
  1. The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) OTR (One-Time Registration) number is now mandatory for certain categories to apply on State Scholarship Portal (SSP). 
  1. The previous year’s marks card or semester results. 

How to Track Post Matric Scholarship Status

To track your student scholarship status, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of SSP and click on “Student Login”.

Step 2: Enter your User ID, Password, and the CAPTCHA code to access your dashboard.

Step 3: Click on the “Year Wise Student Status” link and select academic year 2025-26.

Step 4: Click on “View” to see the status of your scholarship application, including department verification and payment disbursement status. 

The status of your scholarship application will be displayed on the screen.

FAQs on SSP Post Matric Scholarship

  • Can a general category student apply for SSP scholarship?

    Yes, the SSP Scholarship scheme is available for domicile students belonging from SC, ST, minority, OBC, as well as from general category.

  • How much money will the applicants receive under the SSP scholarship?

    The money received by the students under the scholarship program depends upon the course selected and other factors. Under current guidelines, the amount varies by department, ranging from Rs.2,000 to Rs. 30,000 per year for various professional and non-professional courses.

  • How many days will it take to get the scholarship amount?

    It takes three to four months for the entire scholarship program to be completed from scrutiny to scholar selection till the closure of the application window. The payment is disbursed via DBT after the department verifies the e-Attestation and Aadhaar seeding status.

  • Can I apply for two scholarships at a time?

    Yes, candidates can apply for multiple scholarships at a time. However, students can only receive one maintenance allowance, though they may receive additional incentives like the Prize Money or CM Raitha Vidya Nidhi if eligible.

  • Can I apply for both NSP and SSP scholarships?

    Yes, you can apply for both NSP and SSP scholarships at a time. Students must apply under National Scholarship Portal, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, to avail scholarship under SSP. It is now mandatory to provide the NSP OTR (One-Time Registration) number to link your application with the SSP portal.
