The Government of Karnataka's SSP Post Matric Scholarship helps post-matric students from economically disadvantaged families, including Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), and Economically Backward Classes (EBC).
In the system, 30% of the quota is set aside for female students. This scheme has been introduced for overall development and secure future of socially and economically backward students.
The last date for submitting applications for SSP Post Matric Application 2025-2026 is 15 January 2026 for the candidates who are applying through the Backward Classes Welfare Department (excluding PUC, ITI, and Diploma in Polytechnic).

You can register for the SSP Post Matric Scholarship by following the steps given below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of SSP Karnataka
Step 2: On the homepage, click on 'Create Account'
Step 3: Choose your category (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/General). Provide your Aadhar number and a new page will open
Step 4: Fill in the details such as your name as per Aadhaar and and Aadhaar number
Step 5: Agree to the terms and conditions and click on submit
Step 5: Next, you will need to provide your contact details (mobile number, e-mail ID and phone number)
Step 6: You will get an OTP on your mobile number which you need to fill to proceed further
Step 7: Enter your ration card number.
Step 8: From the list of family members, select your name and click on “Proceed”.
Step 9: Create a password and click on “Submit”.
In order to apply for the scholarship, you need to follow the below given steps:
Step 1: Visit the SSP website and login into your account
Step 2: Complete your e-KYC before applying by clicking on e-KYC option
Step 3: After completing the e-KYC, click on the option “Apply for Post- Matric option” on homepage
Step 4: Fill in the study, caste and personal details. You will need to provide a caste or income certificate in your name. It is now mandatory for many categories to provide an NSP-OTR (National Scholarship Portal- One Time Registration) number during the process.
Step 5: Review the details once and then fill in your college details, E-Attestation Details and hostel details.
Step 6: After completing all the details, preview your form and click on submit to complete the application procedure.

Yes, the SSP Scholarship scheme is available for domicile students belonging from SC, ST, minority, OBC, as well as from general category.
The money received by the students under the scholarship program depends upon the course selected and other factors. Under current guidelines, the amount varies by department, ranging from Rs.2,000 to Rs. 30,000 per year for various professional and non-professional courses.
It takes three to four months for the entire scholarship program to be completed from scrutiny to scholar selection till the closure of the application window. The payment is disbursed via DBT after the department verifies the e-Attestation and Aadhaar seeding status.
