SBI Asha Scholarship

The following is a list of some of the SBIF Asha Scholarship Program's key features: 

• A scholarship of up to Rs. 20,00,000 or 50% of the course-related costs, whichever is less, are offered to underprivileged students 

• A minimum household income of Rs. 6,00,000 per year is required for students. Students having a household income of up to Rs. 3,00,000 per year, however, are given preference 

• In their prior academic years, students must have received at least 75% or higher 

• Students who are accepted into any university or college, even those that are ranked highly in the world by organizations like the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the QS World University Rankings 

• The scholarship program is open to students who live anywhere in the nation 

• SC/ST students are the only ones allowed to pursue higher education at overseas colleges.

Types of SBI Asha Scholarship Programme

Students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs at the top 100 NIRF institutions and colleges are eligible to apply for the scholarship. This scholarship was established by the SBI Foundation as a component of the Unified Learning Program. The several kinds of ABIF Asha Scholarships are listed below: 

• The SBI Asha Scholarship Program for Students in Schools 

• SBI Asha Scholarship Program for College Students 

• The SBI Asha Scholarship Program for Graduate Students 

• IIT Students' SBI Asha Scholarship Program 

• IIM Students' SBI Asha Scholarship Program 

Eligibility Criteria for the SBI Asha Scholarship

The following are the required eligibility criteria to apply for SBI Asha Scholarship program under various categories:

For School students:

1.      Applicants must be Indian nationals.

2.      Candidates must be enrolled in class 9 to class 12.

3.      Minimum marks obtained in previous academic session should be 75% or above.

4.      The total income of the family should not exceed Rs.3 lakh.

5.      Students residing in any part of the country are eligible for the scholar program.

For Undergraduate & Postgraduate students:

1.      Applicants must be Indian nationals.

2.      Candidates must be pursuing an Undergraduate course (any year) from a premier university/college in India (listed in the Top 300 NIRF Institutes or with a NAAC rating 'A' and above).

3.      Applicants must have secured 7 CGPA or 75% marks or above in their previous academic year.

4.      The gross annual family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 6,00,000.

For Medical students:

1.      Applicants must be Indian nationals.

2.      Students must be pursuing a Medical degree (any year) from a premier university/college in India (listed in the Top 300 NIRF Institutes).

3.      Applicants must have secured 7 CGPA/75% marks or above in their previous academic year.

4.      The gross annual family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 6,00,000.

For IIT students:

1.      Applicants must be Indian nationals.

2.      Students must be pursuing an Undergraduate course (any year) from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in India.

3.      Applicants must have secured 7 CGPA/75% marks or above in their previous academic year.

4.      The gross annual family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 6,00,000.

For IIM students:

1.      Applicants must be Indian nationals.

2.      Students must be pursuing MBA/PGDM courses (any year) from an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in India.

3.      Applicants must have secured 7 CGPA/75% marks or above in their previous academic year.

4.      The gross annual family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 6,00,000.

For Overseas students:

1.      Applicants must be Indian nationals.

2.      Students must be pursuing a Postgraduate and above courses.

3.      The institution abroad must be included in the Top 200 in QS/THE World University Rankings (for 2024-25).

4.      Applicants must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories.

5.      Applicants must have secured 7 CGPA/75% marks or above in their previous academic year.

6.      Students with a gross annual family income of up to Rs. 6,00,000 are eligible.

Required Documents for SBI Asha Scholarship

The SBI Asha Scholarship Program requires the following documents: 

• Passport-sized photo 

• The two sides of the Aadhar card

• 10th and 12th grade marksheets 

• Final Graduation Marksheet 

• Degree of Completion 

• Letter of Acceptance from the Institute 

• Results of the English Proficiency Test 

• Course Fee Schedule 

• Proof of Family Income 

• Certificate of Caste 

• For those with disabilities, a Disability Certificate 

• Proof of Passport or Visa

• Purpose Statement (SOP) 

• GMAT/GRE Certification 

• Letter of Sanction for Education Loans 

• When it comes to orphans, a letter from the orphanage 

• GMAT/GRE Certificate (If Relevant) 

• If applicable, an official scholarship acceptance letter or an education loan sanction letter 

• Any Affidavit, Divorce Decree, or Death Certificate 

• Certificate of Orphanage or Letter. 

How to Apply for SBI Asha Scholarship?

The following are the steps to apply for SBI Asha Scholarship program: 

• Go to the SBI Asha scholarship portal's official website 

• For more information, click the Apply Now button 

• Log in to Buddy4Study with your registered ID 

• You'll be directed to the Application Form page 

• However, you need to register your Gmail, mobile, or email account before you can use the Buddy4Study website 

• The SBI Asha Scholarship Program for Overseas Education 2025-26 will be displayed to you 

• Click the Start Application button, complete the application form with the necessary information, and submit the necessary files 

• To submit the application, click the Submit button. 

Selection Process 

The selection procedure for SBI Asha Scholarship program is as given below:

Initial shortlisting

• The application is first assessed as per the eligibility criteria. 
• Candidates need to meet the requirements, such as financial need and a minimum academic performance standard. 

Verification of documents

• Rigorous verification of documents will be initiated once the candidates are shortlisted. 
• Documents required for verification are income certificates, academic certificates, and other relevant documents. 

Telephonic interview

• The candidates are invited for a telephonic interview after verification of documents. 
• Candidates need to discuss their aspirations, academic achievements and financial situations. 

Final Selection

1. The final candidates are chosen based on proper evaluation of their academic merit, financial need, interview performance, and document verification.
