Sonata Software Q1 FY19 Results

  1. For the said quarter, the company posted a 10% quarter-on-quarter and 8% year-on-year rise in its consolidated revenue which stood at Rs.688.3 crore.
  2. Its EBITDA for Q1 FY19 increased by 10% quarter-on-quarter and 29% year-on-year to come in at Rs.83.1 crore.
  3. The company reported that its Profit After Tax (PAT) inclined by 5% quarter-on-quarter and 34% year-on-year jump to stand at Rs.57.6 crore.
  4. Its international IT services segment reported that the revenue came in at Rs.257.1 crore as against Rs.241.8 crore posted for the quarter ending 31 March 2018.
  5. EBITDA of its international IT services segment grew from Rs.59.8 crore reported for Q4 FY18 to Rs.66.7 crore for the said quarter, while PAT stood at Rs.47.2 crore as compared to Rs.45.1 crore during the previous quarter.

Sonata Software Annual Report 2017-18

  1. For the financial year ending 31 March 2018, the company reported that its revenue rose by 3% to stand at Rs.2,453.94 crore as against Rs.2,370.78 crore posted during FY17.
  2. PAT for the said fiscal was up by 23% to come in at Rs.192.53 crore year-on-year as compared to Rs.156.30 crore reported at the end of FY17.
  3. EBITDA for the financial year 2018 stood at Rs.276.43 crore, up by 16% year-on-year, as against Rs.238.66 crore posted during the previous fiscal.
  4. The company said that the dividend per share inclined by 17% year-on-year to come in at Rs.10.50 as against Rs.9 posted last fiscal, while EPS grew by 23% to stand at Rs.18.54 as against Rs.15.07 posted during the year-ago period.
  5. The board of directors recommended a final dividend for the said fiscal of Rs.6.75 per equity share.

Sonata Software Q4 FY18 Results

  1. For the quarter ending 31 March 2018, Sonata Software posted a decline in its consolidated revenue by 18% quarter-on-quarter to come in at Rs.625.8 crore; however, it rose by 4% year-on-year.
  2. The EBITDA for the said period grew by 5% quarter-on-quarter and 13% year-on-year to stand at Rs.75.4 crore.
  3. PAT for the quarter inclined by 11% quarter-on-quarter to stand at Rs.54.8 crore and by 53% year-on-year.
  4. Its international IT services segment's revenue for the said quarter inclined slightly from Rs.240.8 crore to Rs.241.8 crore when compared to the previous quarter.
  5. EBITDA from its international IT services came in at Rs.59.8 crore as against Rs.56.8 crore posted for Q3 FY18, while PAT stood at Rs.45.1 crore as compared to Rs.40.1 crore reported during the previous quarter.

Sonata Software Stock Trend in 2018

  1. Sonata Software share price on the 1st of January 2018 stood at Rs.278.35. With hectic buying during the month, the scrip gained more than 20 points to close for the month at Rs.301.45.
  2. In February, the scrip tumbled in the back of a lower than expected Q3 results which led the stock to lose about 25 points by the 6th of the month; however, it recovered by the end of the month to close at Rs.321.20.
  3. The scrip closed for trading at Rs.319.05 on the 1st of March. During the course of the month, the stock witnessed a high of Rs.321.60 before closing for the month at Rs.312.90.
  4. When the market opened for trading on the 2nd of April, the scrip closed for trading at Rs.315 and rose to touch a record high of Rs.374.15 before ending at Rs.358.70 on the back of hectic buying of the company's shares.
  5. In May, the scrip gained as many as 30 points to close at Rs.372.65 due to the better than expected results for the financial year 2018.
  6. The stock tumbled during the month of June losing about 60 points to end the month at Rs.313.05 as investors were apprehensive of the company's Q1 FY19 results.
  7. The scrip rose to touch Rs.339.55 in July before closing for the month at Rs.344.90. The rise in the stock value was due to volume purchases of the company's shares.
  8. In August, the company declared a dividend of 675% which prompted the scrip to grow by more than 10 points and ended the month at Rs.353.60.
  9. The scrip opened for trading on the 3rd of September at Rs.356 before closing for the month at Rs.345.75. With the company beating estimates of the Q1 FY19 results, the stock saw its biggest gains of more than 50 points to touch Rs.413.40 before ending the month at Rs.369.55.

Sonata Software Stock Trends in 2016 and 2017

  1. On the 1st of January 2016, Sonata Software share price closed for trading at Rs.173.75 before losing points significantly in the month of February in the back poor Q3 FY17 results prompting the management to declare an interim dividend of 550% which led the stock to climb to Rs.168.80 only to lose in the month of March and closed at Rs.145.75.
  2. In April, the scrip gained about 7 points but the biggest gains came in the month of June with as many as 20 points to close at Rs.166.45. The rise in stocks was in the back of better estimates for the Q1 FY17.
  3. The scrip stabilised in the month of July with a high of Rs.175 and ending the month at Rs.160. With better than expected Q1 FY17 results, the stock rose by 5 points to close at Rs.165 on the last day of trading in September.
  4. The scrip continued to remain stable in October before rising in November on the back of an interim dividend of 350% for shareholders. By the end of December, the scrip gained nearly 20 points to close at Rs.185.90.
  5. With the results of Q3 FY17 to be announced in February, the scrip gained to touch Rs.216.45; however, the results didn't cheer the market which led the stock drop about 50 points. On the last day of trading in March, the stock price of Sonata Software stood at Rs.168.65.
  6. The scrip continued to move downwards in the month of April and May despite the possibility of a final dividend by the company for the said fiscal. In June, the stock stabilised to close at Rs.152.90.
  7. With a final dividend of 550%, the scrip gained about 10 points to touch Rs.161.90 in August before declining in the month of September to close at Rs.147.40.
  8. During the last three months of 2017, the scrip witnessed a significant surge. Coupled with a robust Q2 FY18 results and an interim dividend of 375%, the stock price of Sonata Software rose to touch a record high of Rs.278.45 by the end of December.
