What is Udyogini Scheme?

Udyogini scheme is a government- backed initiative launched to support women entrepreneurs across the country. Under this scheme, the women entrepreneurs coming from the economically weaker section of the society get financial aid to start their business. The scheme supervision is done by the state’s Women’s Development Corporations, and various financial institutions are instructed by the government to offer interest-free loans to women entrepreneurs. 

Features and Benefits of the Udyogini Scheme

  1. Loans up to 3 lakhs: The eligible women applicants can get a loan of up to Rs. 3 lakhs under this scheme. There is no limit on the loan amount if the applicant is disabled or widowed. 
  1. Zero-interest loans available: If the woman applicant is starting a business in the agricultural sector, no rate of interest will be charged. 
  1. Subsidy: The woman entrepreneur gets a subsidy of up to 30% or a maximum of Rs.90,000 while repaying their loan. If the woman borrower belongs to scheduled caste or scheduled tribe and has a family income below Rs. 2 lakh per year, then the subsidy is 50% of the loan amount. 
  1. Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP): The government also offers EDP training to selected beneficiaries.

Eligibility Criteria of the Udyogni Scheme 

The eligibility criteria to apply for this loan are as listed below: 

  1. The loan applicant should be a woman. 
  1. The loan applicant should be between 18 years and 55 years of age.  
  1. The family income of the loan applicant should not be more than Rs.1.5 lakh. 
  1. The loan applicant should not have defaulted on any loan in the past. 
  1. The loan borrowed can be used to start any micro-enterprise or engage in a small-scale industry. 

Documents required to apply for the Udyogni Scheme 

The below listed are the documents required to apply for the Udyogini Scheme: 

  1. Experience or training certificate of the activity for which you are applying for a loan. 
  1. A detailed project report explaining the activity for which you are borrowing a loan. 
  1. Caste certificate in the case of a scheduled caste or scheduled tribe applicant. 
  1. Cost quotation for the equipment required and other related expenses. 
  1. Ration card or voter ID
  1. Family’s annual income certificate. 
  1. Residential proof. 
  1. Three copies of the passport-sized photographs. 

How to apply for the Udyogni Scheme Online: 

Follow the steps given below to apply for the Udyogini Scheme online: 

Step 1: You need to search for the bank offering loans under Udyogini scheme. Next, you need to visit the bank’s official website to submit an application for a loan under Udyogini scheme.  

Step 2: Once you have submitted the application for a loan under Udyogini scheme, it will be checked and verified by the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO). 

Step 3: The CDPO will then forward it to the selection committee. 

Step 4: Your application will be examined by the selection committee, and if you fulfil all the eligibility criteria, it will be forwarded to the bank. 

Step 5: Next, you will have to submit all the required documents to the bank.  

Step 6: Once the banks have verified all the documents, your loan application will be processed, and a letter will be sent to the Women’s Development Corporation to release the loan amount. 

Step 7: The banks will then transfer the loan amount to your bank account.

Follow the steps given below to apply for the Udyogini Scheme offline: 

Step 1: You need to check the bank offering a loan under the Udyogini scheme and obtain an application form from there.  

Step 2: Completely fill out the application form with all the required details and submit it to the bank along with the listed documents. 

Step 3: Your application will be verified by the bank, and if it is a successful verification, it will be forwarded to the Women’s Development Corporation to release the loan amount.  

Step 4: Once the bank receives the loan amount, it will be transferred to your bank account.
