The Janata Sahakari Bank which was established in 1949, has been very committed to rectifying a social issues in the city of Pune. The main objective of the bank is to ensure that finance is provided to the economically weaker section of society. The bank is extremely happy catering to the financial requirement of the masses instead of the classes. The bank got its green signal from the Reserve Bank of India back in 1988, to function as a scheduled co-operative bank and started to accept deposits Government, Semi-Government corporations. As well as Government & Semi-Government corporations started to accept Janata Sahakari Bank drafts. Since 2012 the bank has been give the multi state bank status.
