    Vijaya Bank Kisan Credit Card Overview:

    Vijaya Bank offers timely and adequate credit to farmers to meet the agricultural requirements. The card provides short term credit, postharvest credit and investment credit to farmers to assist them through the entire process of cultivation and marketing of crops. This makes the Kisan credit card a single window of credit coupled with a flexible and simplified procedure. This scheme is farmer friendly and offers convenient credit options. Personal accident cover is also available to protect farmers and their dependants against unforeseen events.


    Short term credit - to meet the requirements of crop cultivation. This provides liquidity to the farmers to have ready credit to meet immediate expenses.

    Postharvest credit - This credit is provided to farmers to meet post-harvest expenses that include produce marketing, working capital for maintenance of the farm assets, and for allied activities. Allied activities can include inland fisheries, poultry, dairy animals and the like. It can also include insurance premium paid for crops, assets and health.

    Consumption needs - This credit is provided to farmers to meet the households consumption expenditure and consumer goods.

    Investment Credit - This credit is meant for purchase of pump sets, sprayers, dairy animals and so on that are required for agriculture and related activities.

    The card is valid for 5 years.

    Limit Enhancement:

    The card is entitled to a contingency provision to enhance the credit limit by 10% annually taking into consideration the rise in costs and increase in the scale of finance.

    Processing Fees:

    There are no processing fees levied on credit limits of up to Rs. 3 lakhs.

    Rupay Enabled:

    Kisan Credit Cardholders will receive an ATM card which is Rupay enabled that allows them to withdraw cash when they need. They can also use this card to pay for purchases at merchants who accept Rupay.


    Kisan Credit Cardholders will receive personal accident cover under this scheme.

    Crop insurance is also given to the notified areas under the Rashtriya Krishi Bima Yojana, the crop insurance scheme.


    Interest rates offered under this scheme are low. Interest subvention is also offered by the Government from time to time.

    Vijaya Kisan Tatkal Scheme:

    This scheme is designed to provide instant credit to Kisan Credit Cardholders who hold a satisfactory record for 2 years. The credit is granted to meet emergency and urgent agricultural requirements. It can also be used to finance any domestic purpose or to get through financial difficulties. The loan can be paid off within 3 to 5 years in convenient instalments.

    Under this scheme, cardholders can avail of Rs. 1,000 minimum up to a maximum of Rs. 50,000. The maximum loan amount is subject to a limit of 50% of the Kisan credit card limit or 25% of the yearly income. Whichever is lower will be considered for the Kisan Tatkal Scheme.

    No additional security is required for this scheme. The security offered for the Kisan Card will continue under this scheme.

    1. What is interest subvention under the Vijaya Bank Kisan Credit Card Scheme?

      The State or Central Government may offer subsidized interest rates on the Kisan Credit Card from time to time. When these subsidies are offered, cardholders can pay back their dues at lower rates of interest. This lessens the burden on the farmers and promotes the agricultural sector.

    2. By when do I have to pay back the expenses on my Kisan Credit Card?

      Generally, all expenses made on the credit card have a one-year time period for repayment. This means when you spend on your card, you should pay back the amount within one year. But the credit card is valid for 5 years.

    3. Can I swipe my Rupay Card at shops?

      If the merchant accepts Rupay, you can use your card to make purchases. You can find out if they accept Rupay by the logo displayed at the billing counter or by asking the merchant.

    4. Does the card cost any entrance charges?

      No, there are no annual or entry fees levied on the Kisan Credit Card. There are no processing charges for loans below Rs. 3 lakhs.
