Internet banking has drastically altered the way most people operate their bank accounts. The convenience and accessibility of internet banking has led to it becoming one of the most popular methods of carrying out financial transactions. If you have not yet activated your internet banking facilities with Punjab National Bank, the process is quick and relatively easy, and your net banking facilities can be activated from the comfort of your own home. One of the key points in activating your net banking account is having your mobile number registered with the bank. If you have been registered to receive SMS alerts from the bank, then activating your internet banking should be fairly simple.
Activating your Internet Banking Facilities Online
The process of activating your internet banking facilities can play out in two ways, based on whether or not you have tried to activate your online banking facilities before.
To start off the process of activating your internet banking facilities, log on to Punjab National Bank’s official website. The bank’s website has net banking facilities for retail internet banking and corporate internet banking. If you have a regular savings account, click on the link that directs you to the retail internet banking registration.
If this is your first time registering for internet banking, click on the “New User?” link. The link will direct you to the registration page. On the registration page, you will be asked for your account number, and the type of facility for which you are registering i.e. internet banking, mobile banking, or both.
Once you have entered your account number and selected the type of registration, click the verify button. By clicking on the verify button, you will be directed to the next page where you will be asked the type of facility that you would like to avail—“view” or “view and transaction”. If you select the “view” option, you will only be allowed to access the debits and credits made in your account and will not be able to transfer funds. If you select the “view and transaction” option, you will be able to view your account balance and carry out a variety of financial transactions allowed by the bank.
After you have chosen the type of internet banking facility that you would like to avail, you will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number. On entering the OTP, you will also be asked to enter your debit card number and your ATM pin. Once these details have been entered, you can set your password, following which you will be redirected to a new page with a message stating the successful registration for net banking facilities and your customer ID. Your net banking facilities will be activated instantly and you can log in and access it.
For most new account holders, activating internet banking facilities can be done while filling out forms to open an account. Other methods of activating net banking facilities include visiting the nearest Punjab National Bank branch and filling out a form. The bank usually mails the credentials required for internet banking within 7 days to the mailing address registered with the bank.
